Well, I think that based on everything that a Sport 20 front bumper for my 1999 Protege may be the best way to go to complete my exterior look. I was originally thinking that maybe I could custom fit a lip, or get the Mazda front lip....but I am not too sure about those ideas anymore. Everyone that has the Sport 20 front bumper seems to like it, and it matches the MSP sides and rear so well.

So based on my research, what I will need for the Sport 20 conversion is the actual front bumper ($340) and the grille ($150). People have said that the front bumper fitment isn't the greatest without getting the matching headlights and corners....but I don't think it is that big of a deal in my opinion. You can't really notice it that much. Any other hidden costs that I don't know about if I want to do this? Negatize or anyone else that has done this, can you shed some light.

I better start saving up if I want to do this. $510 US + shipping to Canada + paint/install should make it about $1100 CDN. A pretty penny, but I think it would be worth it. Plus I would be the only person in Canada with it. (first)

sounds good man, i agree that the best looking bumper you can get for the 99-00 is the sport-20...but if youre gonna spend all that money, whats another hundred for the headlights to make it fit right?

U dont need the headlights to get it to fit, just a little trimming of the reinforcement which isnt hard at all.

For it to fit on the car all you need is the Sport20 bumper and grille and some MP3/Protege5 wheel well liners.

The headlights/fenders/corners are another ~$900 from Corksport. I'd suggest getting them also so the front bumper gaps line up right.

Do you have to buy the grille or can you make the stock one fit?
