What size nuts are used in installing struts?

I am replacing my stock suspension with coilovers and other bits because my current stuff is fried and/or rusted. I was also going ot replace the nuts that hold the suspension bits for new ones but I don't know the size. I know to use a 14mm socket to remove and replace them, but I don't know the thread size.

Does anyone know where I can find out? thanks.
