Not really a big deal, but I verified with them three times and they still got it wrong. Ok, so the other day I had my rotors off for my buddy to turn for me, so then I pick them up and am looking for brake pads, Autozone=nothing, Advanced Auto Parts=every part of the brake assembly, except pads, NAPA=nothing. So I break down and go to the dealer.....141$ for brake pads and they didn't have them in stock, would take til Thursday to get them and the guy kept bugging me for my vin #, which I couldn't get for him b/c I wasn't driving the car today. So I call the dealer that my buddy works right next to (and gets a discount at) and I say "Hey do you have any front brake pads for a MAZDASPEED Protege?" He replies that he needs to check and then comes back and says he has one set. "Great and they are for the MAZDASPEED right, b/c they have larger brakes and the regular pads won't work?" He says "yeah, they are for the mazdaspeed" Cool right?
me: "How much are they?"
him: "101$"
me: "really? ok cool, they are for the MAzdaspeed and can you hold them for a minute?"
him: "yeah, I am here til 4"
me: "great I'll be there shortly, hold them for Velocifero

So then I call my buddy and he goes to pick them up for me, seeing as how he works right there, he needed to go anyway, and he gets a discount. He then preceeds to verify with the guy that they are for the Mazdaspeed and two more times the guy says they are. This is what I am left with after installing said brake pads:

Ok, I know I am a showing a slight bit of retardation for not matching the old pads up to the new ones, they looked about right, it was hotter than balls and the fucker told us like 17 times they were the right pads. Well he was wrong. Now I am selling these new protege pads to a buddy with an MP3 and ordering some pads from a vendor. What do you guys reccomend as stock replacement pads?

You know what really sucked... I was typing this message out on Friday when the server went down, so I spent all the time venting and then went to push submit new thread and bam "No Server Found" That helps ease tension! The original message was longer but oh well I can't recall exactly how I worded everything in it. So it was just a small rant on Mazda pissing me off. oh well.

The Bobcats are the best for street/performance/auto-x (not track)

how long did it take for them to be real good? 500 miles? Or were they just good from the get go?

I just started using EBC Yellowstuffs 2 days ago. No complaints so far. Performance basically matches the stock pads even though I have drilled rotors now.

just got new rotors from procarparts and satisfied pads from jdm sam and installed them this weekend.

the pads are too new for me to comment, but i heard good things about em. (hence, why i bought them in the first place).

thanks to procarparts and jdm sam for my brakes!

front brakes are same as V6 626. Those parts are easy to find.
