Hi everyone, I just got my protage, odometer is reading 142,204 and running strong, are there any upgrades for the 97, or am I out of luck? I tried google, but it seems the 2nd gens are unloved... ?

hey man welcome welcome....i got a '96 lx w/ like 170000 miles on it....yeah there are mods for the car, u just have to shop around...try e-bay...i'm sure your local car shop can order or help you find pars for it...my advise is if the car starts to smoke out of the exaust (thick white smoke) rebuild the engine...like new gaskets and maybe new rings and such...helps greatly...and improves the performance a bit, that i know ......

and ofcorse you can always ghetto rig something in the car...as in some "custom" part made urself...like the air box and such :)

They are pretty popular on clubprotege but I wouldn't recomend posting any "simple" questions because if it can be found in the FAQ or in ANY post they will bitch the crap out of you. They have shitloads of performance parts for them on ebay check there.
