If you've got an AT Touring, with NAV and pearl paint charge, MSRP is $22,610...close to what you wrote. Do you have any other options too?

$17,765.00 without tax (6%) and doc. fee but including the other crap. It's a 5-Sport with sill extentions, in-dash 6 cd player and rear spoiler: I offered $17,400 to 2 dealers and ended up at this price. Also after only 1200 miles it's back at the dealer with starting issues. It will not start about 2 out of 10 times without many cranks. My only other complaint is the 17" wheels. I would much rather have 16" for the looks and price.

Starting problems.... WOW (boom05) I didn't expect this problem to even surface especially for a car model that's been around for 5 years outside the US. Let's wait to see how many more problems comes up.

Tim H.:
Try turning the ignition to the ON position, leave it there for about 3 seconds, then turn it all the way to start it. This is especially true for cold starts (e.g. first start in the morning).
mazdafive:
The Mazda5 is completely new (around the world). Yes, it's called the Premacy in Japan but the vehicle is completely new in comparison to the old Premacy.

Just ordered:
Canada spec Mazda5 GT
Air
5-spd
Indigo Blue
MSRP Cdn$25310
Paid Cdn $24750
Not a killer deal, but not bad considering scarcity of this vehicle right now. Also, still a lot of bang for the buck, we think.
Disappointed that they then tried to sneak in $1150 in "hidden" charges in the financing deal -- which I caught. (low-km lease 20000km vs 25000km/yr w/ $0.08/km overage = $400 difference; $500 security deposit; $250 admin fee; all contrary to Mazda Canada website; all removed from deal by them with no hassle once I confronted them). Pity the fools who don't read the fine print. Carling Motors, Ottawa. Shame on them.

Motor's roots is 2001 Mazda6, but Mazda tunes it differently for each vehicle application. ECU is Mazda5 specific. Suspension roots is 2003 Mazda3, but again tuned specifically for the Mazda5.
So yes, some components have history on other Mazdas, but referring to "car model", it's new.

No. That sounds like a reasonable deal. We paid $24750 (before tax) for GT+air (no auto, no tint, no rustproof) but have to wait from Aug 20th to almost Christmas for delivery. Considering you got one with 6000km and got to drive it home right away, I think your price was good.

Ouch got the call today........ they cannot give it to me ......... Mazda Canada will not let them sell them or release them until the recall gets fixed. They got $1000 of mine and I got no car........... guess it is better this way than having a car payment and no Masda5

MSRP on mine was around 20,300 or so. Drove off at 18,300. The dealership was offering a deal for military members of 35 dollars above invoice. Of course they never told me abou it; i found it on their website. After i brought it up they wanted to give me LESS then what they had offered my for my trade in. They gave me a sob story about how they had to make money some how and that they would lose money on the deal as it was. I told them i knew that even if i paid invoice for a vehicle they would still be making anywhere from 5-10% profit on it (based on the number of vehicles they have bought from mazda). At that they shut their mouths and let the deal go. INFORMED CONSUMER FOR THE WIN.

Paid $31000.00 Canadian inc tax, freight and PDI for GT with air, auto, roof rack, block heater, all weather mats and bumper cover. MSRP of 22795.00 before any options, Dealer invoice is 21274.00 according to Car Cost, I split the difference in profit. I'm happy with this price considering the dealer had the WW Pearl GT in 3 weeks. Not much margin according to Carcost about 7%. (spin)

I paid $30600 for a demo but it had tinted windows..........you got a roof rack in that price... is the block heater, all weather mats and bumper covers all options. Looks like I got ripped........... still have not got the car yet maybe I should cancel the order and start again from new...........
By the way my dealer said the recall should be fixed by early next week

got a red touring 5, dealership was strange on negotiating. They would not budge on the sticker price at all, so I talked them up an extra $1k or so on my trade in from what I thought it was worth and got some discount there.
I would have taken less for the trade in if they had been more willing to negotiate the car price. In any case out the door then, including the trade, I paid $21k.

came with floor mats and free lifetime tire replacement (yeah, I'll believe it when I see it)
I think it was around $21K. I had another dealer offered me an identical Mazda5 for around $20,750, but the recall wasn't done on it yet (they had no idea when parts where coming in for it) and he offered me $3k less on my trade.
So I drove an extra 20 miles and got a way better trade in and dealt with nicer people.

I Leased the Mazda 5 GT with Auto and A/C.
It was in the Showroom with 200km on it.
I added the remote car starter with it ($900 approx.installed).
Total MSRP $25,900
The price for the 5 with the car starter is $476 a month tax included.
I got it for $450/mo (4 yrs lease) but I had to pay for approx. half of the car starter with my credit card "$400".
But then I added ALL the protection plan for the 4yr lease. Which was another $1000. That brought it back up to around $475/mo.
That Salesman @ Performance Mazda Orleans was good. No hidden charges. it is what it is. Not sure is this a good deal, email me for the name of the salesman if you are interested.

Model: GT (Canada), AT, A/C, platinum silver
MSRP: $25,000 (GT + metallic color + AT + A/C)
Price paid: ... well I have a trade-in, so it's hard to it put into meaningful numbers. However, I got the idea of not to expect more than a $500 discount (when w/o a trader-in). I guess this reflects the $500 graduation promotion that they are prepared to give to everyone.
However, many dealers in the Toronto area are offering $1000 grad discount, which is higher than that posted on Mazda website?!
Anyhow, the platinum silver that I got was in the showroom (0 miles - not demo), so I don't have to wait for it and I get the see the real thing before paying for it. It also saves me the hassle of making trips to Toronto.

Thanks. They are 17". I used the Toyo tires that came with the Mazda 5 GT. I really wanted to go with 18" but decided to stay with the 17" because the 18" with low profile tires will be a rough ride on a heavy Mazda 5. If I hit a pothole with 2 to 3 people in the car. I'm sure the 18" rims will be damaged.

They didn't want to come off that $500 for nothing. But that's OK, because they got the short end of the stick on my trade. I paide $13995 for my Grand Caravan a year ago, they gave me $13100.

I guess you are refering to long lead times/order times? The 3 local dealers in the Raleigh/Durham, NC, USA area have quite a bit of inventory as far as '06s go. Mazda USA has not marketed the Mazda5 very agressively, which I don't understand! This appears to be the answer for young families. Oh well!
If the 07s sell like the 06s then I should be able to have my pick off the dealer lot.
