Read it and post what you think. I'm rather interested in how American cars are faring far better than ANY imports - Asian or European. Kinda makes me wonder who established this SAE thing anyways.

the caddy went up 30hp... nice!
I'm all for new tighter SAE regulations because for years I've been saying that something is wrong.
But, if one car company says we will do all our cars over again using the new system, and the other car company says....nah, we will do just new ones, well, I think that's pathetic. The domestics are "assuming and guessing" that their old engines are fine under the new system. Unfortunately for the customer, this creates even more confusion because some engines are rated one way, and others are rated another. All of a sudden, the HP rating means nothing without regulation. So, I hope they do make the "almighty" big 3 re-rate all of their cars again.
Then again, a domestic is still domestic. And if you think of it, if the domestics having even MORE HP then they've said all along, and they still perform as badly as they do , then that makes the imports seem even better performing on much less power. Did that makes sense?

yeah but a lot of people always look for hp. That's why you always get "xxx car has the most horsepower in its class" by 5 different manufacturers w/5 cars all in the same class.
Though I agree that insiders would probably still prefer the imports over domestics. Time will tell I guess.
