Does anyone know where i could find a set of blacked out taillights? I'm looking for something that is like a 98 Jetta GT.

1. my/cheap way :autozone can of gloss black and clear coat spray paint
2. check out the "rockblocker" thread in the groupbuy for sale section

no company sells one, you'd have to do something like Thapro1 mentioned and go custom. A while back I blacked out a set of tails with VHT night shade spray. it was easy to do and came out right but didn't like how they looked on the car.

heres an idea of what were talking about...of course darkness will vary depending on how many coats you spray

yeah go on ebay, and type in "protege lights black" they got some, the centers of the actual lights are red though but all around is black there are 3 red circles though.. dunno if that is what u are looking for but they look like this The image “http://www.msprotege.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=61039&stc=1” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

heres a few with blinkers on then the reverse lights the passenger side taillight isn't 100% perfect but you don't really notice it to much

did you say that you did this with just gloss black + clear coat??? i paid 20 bucks for a tiny can of niteshades to get that look...

yes sir^ i also paid that much for that niteshades crap and it sucked the paint is much better
