I just picked up my 5 (Sport model Carbon Gray) brakes seem a little soft, not sure if i'm just not used to ABS or not. Anyone else noticed this yet.

ABS has nothing to do with pedal feel beside when it's working and you feel the "grinding"

When I picked up my Mazda5 Sport 3 weeks ago, the brakes felt much stronger than the brakes in my Honda Civic. I had to consciously go light on the brakes. I don't think that your brakes should feel soft, but I guess it depends on what you're used to, or possibly (hopefully not!) there's something wrong with your brakes.

ABS only operates if you slam hard on the brakes. During normal braking, it should have absolutely no effect (i.e., ABS won't even turn on), so it won't make your brakes feel "soft".
