Ok, I want my car lowered. Not just a little either. The lowest springs I could find(using google and this forum) are the Sprint springs, which supposedly yield a 2" drop front and rear. That's ok, but does anyone know of some springs that give a 3-4" drop?

you'd probably want to get coilovers, same thing but you can adjust the height from 1-4 inches.. there's ground control, skunk 2, or ebay, but you'll end changing your struts anyways so just save up and get struts/springs or coilovers..

the only correct way to go that low is full coilovers with struts and everything ... and they are gonna cost a pretty penny ...

Yep, that's what I was afraid of. lol I would hate to spend that much on coilovers, partly because I'd adjust them once after the inital install, then never again. Seems like a waste just to get the car that low. But then again, they will out perform the combo I was going to go with. Coilovers it is then! Thanks for your input. I can vouge for the NEX SS Coilovers height adjustable not dampening (normally $615 awesome deal on mine $365 shipped brand new) and K-sport are both probably the cheapest with good quality Check on e-bay.

i have skunk2 coilover and they ride a little harsh, but i'm still using stock struts. I know of someone that is selling a used set of skunk2 coilovers for $80. if your interest i can give you a link to their ad posting on craigslist. they are located in Cali, since i see you also live in cali.

Yeah, that looks so good. I just love cars that are really low. Oh, also, please pm me that link when you get a chance. At $80 it's worth a look. Thanks!

Brian MP5T, I looked on your cardomain page, and saw taht you're using the Tien SS coilovers. How do they perform? Also, i was looking at Tien's site, and they had a pic of a pro sedan with the SS's installed, and the thing barely looked lowered, yet yours looks like it's really low(I like it). Did they just not have them dialed in as low as they can go? Is yours dialed as low as they will allow?

coilovers, no question... without adjustable struts the car would SUCK that low... take it from me, I formerly had a 3" drop on Ground Control coilovers (as low as they would go), and stock Tokico blue struts. it was rough... now I have Tein SS Coilovers, and its much better... and they are pretty much at their lowest setting. lowest in the front, and almost lowest in the rear (it doesn't look right when the rear is all the way down)

contact AODfan for the K-sport coilovers which is the most complete cheaper option for fully adjustable coilovers... I've seen them inperson, and are constructed quite nicely.

I am nowhere near the lowest I can go. If you back off the spring pearch all the way, you will be riding on bumpstops. The Tein-SS is bang for buck a great entry level complete suspension for the Protege.

It's simple, The lower you go, the stiffer you adjust the shock so that you don't just bottom out the frame of the car (Sparks a Flying).

For 2" I would go 3/4 Stiff Front and Rear.

No biggie. :) I'm either going to go with the Tien SS, the K-Sports, or my original Tokico blues and Sprint spring combo. I took a tape measure to my car, and I think 2" should be plenty. Any lower and and I'll never make it over the drive-way hump at work. lol That, plus the roads around here are crap at best. I know coilovers are the best way to go from a performance stand point, but I think I'd be wasting money on them. I'd adjust them once, then never again. Decisions decisions......thanks for everyones input!

i would say, go with the tokico blues and springs. Have you considered the tokico illumias(white ones) with springs?

Not to try to steer you in any direction but what kind of budget are we talking about here. If you were to go with Aluminas and Sportlines that would be a very sweet if you are talking about a weekend track car set up but damn even on ebay $459+191+shipping?=Mucho Dinero Dude.

Oops I forgot my point NEX Height adjustable no dampening which if you are going to have it dropped 2" or so you will need the Struts stiff enough to account for clearance on sharp uneven turns. I had to raise mine about .350" when I went with 18's. I like it as low as possible without rubbing and I adjusted up and then back down for around a month until it was just right. I love my ride its nice and tight and not too much more stiff than stock. For the money of the NEX, I would recommend more the K Sports if they are still around for about the same price with Dampening adjustment and Camber Plates all around. Mine just has the slotted upper hub mounting hole on the strut which is kind of a pain in the ass to get square unless I was to get it aligned after everytime I screw with something.
Damn I need to go to bed!

I have, but again, I'd set and forget them, so it seems like a waste of money to me. As far my budget shanep02pro5, it's pretty big. I'm fortunate enough that I can save for about a month(only bacause my hours went up), so cost isn't a big deal. I think I'm going to go with the Tokico blues and the Sprints, regardless of my budget, because I'd prefer to spend as little as possible. My car isn't my only hobby lol.
