I'm probably going to add a rear spoiler to my car in the spring when I get new wheels/tires. I found a website that sells OEM parts, and they have the Protege OEM spoiler for just under $100. I'm not sure what color it comes as.
I was curious if anyone has had a spoiler added. How much does it cost for installation and painting?

I added my spoiler, paint was 80 and installation was free cuz i did it myself, It is very easy to do yourself, Just make sure the holes line up and bingo your set to go.

How exactly do you install it? Just drill two holes from inside the trunk into the bottom of the spoiler?

dude, i have a silver oem spoiler from my 01 i can sell you. i replaced it a couple years back with the mp3 one. i will sell it to you cheap, and its already painted. it cost me $75 to have the new one painted, so how does 100 + shipping sound? i was only on for a year, and has been in storage in my parents attic since then. let me know if your interested.

Hmm, I'm assuming that the silver paint on '99s vs '01s is the same color code?
Is there any rust on the spoiler at all?

Do tell. lol I have a spoiler to add as well, and I would love to know how to do this, so that I don't have to pay someone to install it. Thanks!

i just realized i never posted the pics up here. i have the spoiler at my house, and it looks great, no scratches or anything. i got a dog over the weekend, so i've been really busy the last couple days. i will take pics as soon as i get home (assuming your still interested)

Yes I'm still interested. I'll have to wait until I find a job though. I just moved last weekend, and I'm waiting to hear about a couple jobs I applied for.
I'd really like to order a new set of wheels and tires for the warmer months too, and a set of snow tires for the upcoming Wisconsin winter.
