Hey guys,
I am installing some Posi-quiet Ceramic Pads that I got from propartsusa.com & Ive hit a snag. I removed the metal plate off the back of the old pad & upon trying to attach ti to the new pad the metal "head" on the new pad is too big!!! and I cannot get the hole on the plate to go over the the "head" on the new pad!!!! What the hell do I do here? Does this metal plate have to go back on or any other suggestions please!!!

OK ive been doing some reading & this plate might not be needed....does it serve any other purpose besides noise reduction?

I believe it's there just to brace the pad. I remember when I did mine all I re-used with the metal retainer on the caliper. No plates for me.

I'm sure you're already done with your brakes, but from what I know, the only thing the metal shim is for is to reduce squeaks. So, no, you don't have to use them.
