View Full Version : Can't open the door!
The passenger door on the left (behind the driver seat) doesn't open by itself. I need to go out and open that passenger door from outside!
What the hell is that problem?
Is that cover by the warranty if I bring and fix it by the dealer?
Are there child safety locks on the MP3? Look for a little switch on the edge of the door (hidden when the door is closed). It could be a safety feature to keep kids form openning the doors (so they don't do it when the car is moving).

yep its a little black switch that disables the inside latch so kids don't go flying out on the free-way

No, I unlocked the 4 doors, then I say to my friend "now, open it", he says no, he can't, then I check the switch, it was up, so it suppose to open, but can't....
my friend sitting at the back at the right side can go out, but the left one can't...
so it wasn't coz of the safety switch....

ok so your saying that Both switches are in the up or unlock position and one door opens and the other doesnt right .. well then the only thing is either one mechanizim is sticking so it is not engadging the inside connection lever to the inside handle (which in this i am not telling you anything new ) but .. you could always attempt a fix by yourself or ask the dealer tommorrwo to look at ti but tell him upfront that if it is going to cost you anything then you'll do it your self .. the is no sence in having them charge you through the ass for something you could do yourself

I'm pretty sure that if you take the interior door panel off you'll find a broken plastic clip that is causing your problems. Exact same thing happened to my old MX-6.

that is a warranty issue.. unless you put on some aftermarket doors. LoL..
Thanks....
I will go check it out.

it seems like you may be confusing switches, there should be one switch on each door, only acessible if the actual door is open.

Here is a picture of the safety lock on the inside of the rear doors. It should be in the down position. Check it.
