Maybe people don't understand the question. When I think chassis, I think the frame of the car, which is a solid piece, why would it need lubrication?

You mean the suspension stuff? You can lube your swaybar bushings if they clunk or squeak. I don't think there is much outside of the engine and transmission that really needs lube.

no. it is not necessary on most modern cars
