Well, since I have put my Corksport exhaust on the car there have been a few things that have been really getting me nervous.

The main things is the fact that I am running redculously rich. I mean you can smell the gas if I rev it up a little. It smells like there is gas on the ground its so potent. And when my boys are driving behind me, they say that my car smells bad...like its running pig rich. This is beyond what our normal rich fuel tunes are...any help or suggestions...

I am thinking I just need a good tune and it will level out my fuel curves, reducing the amount I am burning, thus killing the smell and saving my gas mileage...

What do you guys suggest???

What was it?

I had a vacuum leak and it seemed to kill the CEL once I fixed it.

And yeah I am running the Corksport exhaust, so its catless...

No I was talking about the CEL code i was throwing...

I've said this many, many times before but people don't seem to believe me. If you are not throwing and cel for a system too lean, or a system too rich then your car is running within factory limits. Period. The minute it runs too lean or too rich you will get a cel. This is a very closely monitiored system, the tinest of vacuum leaks or leaky injectors will throw it off. If you don't have a cel and you are running the factory pcm then you are fine.

I do have a CEL now again. But its cause Im running catless with no second 02 sensor...since Corksports system doesnt have a bung welded in for one...

you're running catless, of course it's gonna smell like ass. i don't know why you're complaining about the smell!

Do you have a fix for the 2nd o2 to prevent a CEL? A wideband?

Dexter

Fix your CEL...

No i dont have a fix for the second 02.

I was going to have a bung welded in, but i think its still gonna throw a CEL due to no cats...

Spark plug non-fouler trick will hook you up with the 2nd O2 issue ... not to say you don't have other issues.

There is a thread on here where you take a 1K ohm resistor and a 1 micro-farad capacitor and solder them into your 2nd o2. All this does is "trick" the sensor into giving the correct reading of a cat that is working properly. Since this sensor does not effect a/f ratio like the first o2, this is the best fix IMO. You will not damage anything by running with that CEL, but you will not be able to monitor other CELs that you might get (unless you have a code reader which I would recommend). If you can solder, then do the fix. It is a couple dollars of parts from radio shack.

i was going to have a bung welded in so I can throw the 02 sensor in the midpipe...still catless though...

Ok. I didn't know that. Get two welded in and get a wideband.

wide band is big money...nothing I can afford right now...lol

I heard that, I have the same problem as you.

get the bung and use the spark plug non fouler trick. it will kill your cell and you dont need to wire anything

what do you expect you are going from having 2 cats to having none, it is going to smell like gas a lot....you will get used to it.

add the O2 bunnnnnnnnng,put the sensor in,and get a O2 mod.you can get one here . (http://www.apexr1.com/mamilelcfi.html)

there is an extra o2 bung on the car. If you still have the stock J-pipe there is a small nut on the passenger side of it. If you take that out there is a o2 bung there. Now you go get the spark plug thingy or a MIL eliminator and you do not need to get a bung welded in.

I was running down through this thread wondering when someone was going to say that!!! There is a spare bung on the right side of the J pipe!!!!!
