Over heated!

A buddies P5 over heated and shut down. A hose busted so we replace it and fill it up. Tried to start it and no luck. When we tried to start it turns over but pops through the filter. What do you think.

broken timing belt or water pump most likely same thing just happened to my friends protege replaced timing belt and its ran perfect ever since
