Since we have an electronic throttle body and the gas pedal is nothing more than a glorified switch, it would make sense that you hear some sort of relay clicking when you play with it.

i find it more of a whine sound, like engine noise in an audio system. I thought it was due to the A/C, as the first time i noticed it, i had the A/C on, but it does it anytime...i just attributed it to the hotwire TB.
never heard a relay click though.
for the record, i still HATE the hotwire TB, i get ZERO feedback from the pedal :(

Hello,
I have a new Mazda3 5-door SP23 and it has been great so far.
However, I hear something similar to what you mentioned as well, but it sounds more like a high-pitched squeak, or rattle – almost like a chirping sound when the accelerator is depressed and running on an slightly rough surface. What I hear doesn’t seem to be associated with the pedal movement, but when depressed, it seems to allow the squeak to occur when the conditions are right – if that makes sense.
If anyone thinks this is something they have noticed or is normal, please let me know.
Thanks!
