I guess its called power shifting, but what are the advantages/disadvantages of shifing without taking the gas pedal out?? How much will it hurt the clutch while racing (redline)??

I don't recommend it! Just get a short shifter and get used to it, big difference. I blew my tranny in 3rd gear about a month ago. Clutchmasters IIR clutch at about 4k rpms nice and gentle and Kablamalacka Shit! I have t 235Tq+/- at 9.5 PSI Hiboosted but that was with an early 02 tranny that has been revised so now I have an 03 tranny. I never shift past 6200 rpms and am at Max Torque so I never see redline and continue driving my car another day. (boom06)

There is no advantage unless you're an expert, and you're drag racing.
Remember: the faster you go, the more possibility of an f-up.
