Just installed the UC and boost controller. Here's a rundown of boost levels:
Pre UC: 5psi
Post UC Low: 5-6.6psi
Post UC High: 12psi
I'm not getting a spike to 12, its holding 12. No drop off what-so-ever. Ideas? There are no boost/vacuum leaks. The wastegate line could be shorter by 4-5". Also the lines are 3/16" ID, it appeared 1/4" hose could be used on the BPV and WG nipples... but ID shouldn't matter unless its too big. I'm gonna try JDMsam's solenoid soon to try to cancel that out of the equation.

very fun. I ended up buying mine from JDMSam since he's a local buddy. otherwise I would have bought from HPF, cause Ben has been nothing but helpful about any Unichip related questions I've thrown at him. I just want to get this boost issue sorted out before I fall in love with 12psi.

Goku BUY IT!
I know I should.
I don't think you holding at 12psi a bad thing hehe. Do you have a WBO2 that you can read your AFRs off of?
I need to get the Uni I think, plug it in, call it a day and have my car fast as balls hehe.
Let us know any more updates and further thoughts on the uni!

I'm gonna be hooking my buddy's wideband up this weekend. Hopefully I can get some datalogs on LinuxRacr's PDA, too. Plus I'll be running xylene on nights I plan to be racing for a lil extra protection.

so would this be a boost solenoid issue or wastegate issue?

seems like a soleniod issue. running off the wastegate alone is fine, the problem arises when the soleniod comes into play.

ok, well hopefully you'll figure it out. how much is it to tune custom tune a unichip? perhaps you can lower the boost spike if you bring it to a tuner.

yea, I'm gonna have sam look at it if the soleniod isn't at fault. the boost controller module may just have higher settings.

Confused... you're saying it's spiking to 12psi and staying there? Is the unichip set for 12psi? I would think that if it were a spike, it would come back down to where it was set on the unichip.

its probably because he has a intercooler that doesn't have pressure drop like stock. Keep it in the conservative timing map, should be fine.

it builds to 12psi and never drops off, like it should. the problem I have with it is that the unichip was tuned to 10psi in the upper rpms cause they ran out of usable fuel. so i'm running 12psi of air w/ 10psi of fuel. either the soleniod or control module is at error.
Kyu- I doubt its my intercooler. i should have a spike, regardless.

what kind of boost gauge do you have?? Most boost gauges can read 2 to 3psi off. Unless you have electronic ones like defi. Also if your really worried try getting a dyno pull with a/f. If your running lean, add a 3 to 1 fmu, should keep you nice and rich and not stress the stock pump.

I've already ruled out the boost gauge, it reads within .5psi. I will be doing some data aquistion soon though to determine where I sit timing and a/f wise.

only way to tell the a/f is a wideband. Its pretty expensive and burns out fairly quick so you can't drive with it on for daily driving. Post up your results whenever.
