View Full Version : Someone Wanna guess my hptq numbers?
Ok, i will be hitting up a dyno in the next 2 weeks or so.
Can anyone give me a rough guess as to what numbers i'm pushing right now?
7psi and also what numbers I'm going to put down when i put on my unichip at 10psi
I just wanna have a idea of where i'm going to sit.
And an estitmate of 1/4 time too would be cool.

With all of the problems you have been posting about my guess would be less than you should.

you still have those mazdaspeed cams in?
i have the same cams that srmotorsports sells.
200whp? at 10psi, sheeesh, i hope it's not that low

At the higher boost setting I would say no more than 210. Wasn't corksport making about 200whp with their exhaust and the unichip in higher boost setting?
wow, you guys are making me disappointed. :(
so what do I have to do to hit 230-240whp?

Unichip with a free-flowing exhaust/IC/intake on its high setting should do that. Just make sure you have any problems with your car worked out (cams especially).

My recollection could be wrong, I just remember the unichip making only about 25 more hp than stock. Plus your other mods might get you close to 220, but theres a lot of factors to consider.
i/e/unichip on a msp made 245crank hp.
i would think or thought that w/ my mods i could of hit that at the wheels. looks like i was mistaken.
the car is running perfect right now. all i need is to finish my downpipe. I didn't put the S on yet. and some new tires in the near future.
cams are working good no problem. I just wish someone would make turbo cams. Who can we get to do that though?

i'm pretty confident in saying you will make between 200 and 210whp.

the unichip isnt tuned for your mods
12-13 psi. i dont know its just a guess. id say 210.

wait, you wanna make 240WHP on the stock block. okay, yeah have fun with that. blamo.
well the sooner i blow it the sooner i can get better internals. :) haha.
I wanna see how high i can get it b4 she blows
if I run the 10psi map will i have to get rid of my stock bpv? what can i use in place of it? i'm still wanting to run a dual setup

I reported my results from three pulls on a dyno. At that time I had all the modifications that you see in my signature, save the Injen CAI and Boostsciences ReFlux Diverter Valve. Running Map A and the Unichip boost on, I hit 207 whp and 207 wtq. I am thus guessing that you will hit slightly higher numbers given your cooler climate (I'm in Florida) and higher level of modifications relative to me.
I ran the stock BPV with the Unichip boost on for six months with no problems. Its only when I installed the Injen CAI that I switched to the Boostsciences ReFlux diverter Valve (i.e., BPV). No problems with the latter setup either.

Just FYI, blowing a hole in your block will not make it cheaper come internal time. I don't think you will with Unichip, but I wouldn't try either.
is map A the 10psi map?
I was just kidding about blowing it, if i blow a hole in the block then mam block here i come, if not then next summer i'll do piston/rod combo

No, Map A is (only) the timing map, with A (orange light OFF) being the least agressive of the two settings. Map B (orange light ON) is the agressive timing map.
The Boost switch lights up the green LED when you run the Unichip high boost setting. I ran green light ON (high boost) and orange light off (Map A) for the pull I reported in my above post.
wtf, there's s combination lock for this thing? do you have pics of where u mounted your switch/light?
If A is only a timing map, what is B? and how do you switch between 6 and 10psi?
so at 10psi map, do u think my car will break into the 13's?

Sorry if I was not clear. If you have yet to install the Unichip, then you may struggle a bit in understanding the setup. There are three separate switches:
(1) ECU reset
(2) Boost (green light off is stock boost, green light on is high boost)
(3) Timing (orange light off is timing map A, orange light on is timing map B)
The switches can be controlled independently of one another.
Go to the thread

to see how I mounted the switches and get a visual on what I am writing. It will help your understanding greatly.
I recall somebody hitting high 13's in the quarter mile with the Unichip and similar modifications to you and I. It may be in the quarter mile thread, aka Dragger's Guide.
I hope this helps.

threads like this suck.....go to the track and find out for yourself, there are too many variables, you could be making 250whp and fucking suck at driving and run 15's.
It was just a opinion question, so STFU!.
Professor MSP, what is the point of having the reset ecu button?

The ECU power switch is always ON. Quoting from the literature, if you wish "to reset the ECU long and short term fuel corrections or to clear a CEL, with the ignition key off and removed, select the OFF position on the ECU power switch and leave it there for a minimum of ten minutes. After ten minutes, turn the ECU power switch to the ON position, then start the car and the CEL should be gone. Additionally, the same proceedure resets any ECU fuel learning."
In other words, you do not have to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery to reset the ECU long and short term fuel corrections or to clear a CEL. This switch does that. I have never had to use it, as the Unichip has performed flawwlessly for me.
A disadvantage of disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery to clear a CEL is that you have to reconfigure your head unit after doing so.
so w/ the unichip is a CEL light always on?

No it is not. There was some speculation when the Unichip first came out that map b would cause a cel in some msp though.
