Mazda3 2.3 vs. Mazda5 engine differences?

They both have 2.3 litre engines but with different horsepower and torque ratings. I haven't seen a dyno chart for a Mazda3 so I'm curious as to the difference in the powerbands of these 2 engines.

Anyone know?

It's the same engine, along with the Mazda6 4-cylinder as well, but the engine is tuned differently in every application.

The key difference with the Mazda5 application is a broader torque band lower in the rev range.

The exhaust looks smaller to boot.

But the Mazda5's power band gets the extra 500 some odd pounds over the 3 moving.
