Hey...I'm new here...Well first of all, I got my license in March, and I really wanted to buy a Honda Civic coupe. That idea flip flopped when I went to the Honda Dealer. Instead I went to investigate a Toyota/Scion dealer, and it also had used cars. I ended up purchasing a 2003 Mazda Protege LX for 9,000. It had 35,000 mi on it, and a cd player, really nice car, its a Burgandy color. I absolutely love it. Anyway, It is going to work brilliantly to get me to work and back, but I'm not positive I want to take this car to college with me I want something more substantial, but I am debating this. I don't want to spend boku bucks making it look aesthetically nice, but it has no spoiler on it, etc, and I either want to make it more sporty or possibly buy a used Mazda Tribute. Any ideas? How does the Protege put up with snow? Because where I live there is a surplus. My only concern is my car is very lightweight. I drive well and carefully, but I have already....spun out? I guess twice on gravel, it was kind of funny at the time, but also scary. I just read this over, but yeah please comment, say whatever. I really am happy with it though, to anyone who also owns the same car. A lot of people at my school thought it was awesome. Okay, off subject, I digress. Comment Away!

well its wisconsin, go figure, i mean there are white out conditions like 3 days a week. it blows! i am thinking more appearance-wise...maybe a spoiler or something. i looked at mazdastuff.com, they are charging a lot for a spoiler...i am thinking of keeping this under like 500 dollars...ish.

check out our for sale section. somebody might be selling their spoilers from their MSP/MP3s. i personally like the 03.5 Spoilers from the MSP.

of course you would have to repaint that. that would be a MP3 spoiler.

cant find a 03.5 for sale but heres how it looks.

If you are going to college and have ANY car, you are doing pretty well.

If I had only one daily driver in that weather it probably wouldn't be a small Protege'. I would get something that gets me through the snow.

If you put rims on it, they will get ruined (I doubt you will have room in your dorm for a spare set of rims).

Get something you can use. Good luck.
