Hi...
After installed my Custom SMIC, I went for a ride and immediatly experienced stalling and fuel cut... which mean that something is leaking somewhere :( !!! I then check my IC pipe and noticed that my stock rubber was no more. So I put the stock SMIC back on because tomorrow morning I have to go to my dealer for my radio and I dont want them to see my car stalling with a custom SMIC ;) !!! So 1h after, no surprise, the leak is still there even with the stock setup !!! So is there any type of tape or rubber that I could use instead of the stock rubber that would withstand the high temperature (around 200-300° F, am I right?) coming out of the turbo !? Ill see what my dealer will say tomorrow, but I want to look for other options too !!!
Thanks
*** Does anybody knows the part # for the stock rubber band !?

After you take it to the dealer. Invest in some hardpipes. They really make a difference.

for reals. the stock pipes won't make a good seal with an aftermarket SMIC.

Do you think aluminium tape would work instead of the stock rubber band ?

It might work temporarily.

Mine was holding past 20psi with the stock pipes on a SMIC with the stock rubber bands.

I just went to the dealer; one rubber band is 12$ (CAN) !!!!!!!! Might order two, but there must be something else I could use (dunno) !!! How hot do you think it get at IC entrance !? 100°C or more !?
Thanks

why temporarily !? Well because its tape. After awhile it could come loose.

You think, even with clamps screwed tight  !?
Anybody knows another solution or product !?
Also, what is the approximate temperature at the IC's entrance !?

Hey,
Just get the stock bands and fold them up so the surface is thicker. Also, get aftermarket worm clamps and you'll be good to go. The stock clamps will undo over time.

I found a repair tape at a store near me (Canadien Tire). Its call "Repair Tape" by "Magic Wrap". It is made of rubber, has no glue, can be stretched very long and support up to 100psi and temperature up to 100°C. It is working perfectly for now. I just need to get me some new clamps because the upper one is starting to get weaker. Do you know how I could make the little hole on the side like on the stock one !?
thanks
