car hesitated a bit yesterday on the highway, I pull over and check all hoses and fluid levels which all check out ok. car starts right back up and goes on problem free. I pass it off as a one time freak occurrence. take the car out this evening and 15 minutes later the car starts hesitating real bad. pull over and check everthing once again, all seems ok. start it back up and hesitation out the ass. after one hour of playing I raise the white flag and get the tow truck.

the car just had the front mount installed yesterday and that initial hesitation started two hours after I left the shop. I think the fmic install in coincidental but I could be wrong. I've always had a CEL so I don't know if I pulled a new one. I'm guessing a sensor of sorts, thoughts?

I was thinking the MAF as a possibility, if so it would be maf #4 - lol. I've had a CEL for the longest so I told mazda not to worry about clearing it, just to get the car running. lucky this didn't happen in the middle of the 700 mile road trip getting here.

I'm 2.5 hours from him and I don't think the fmic has anything to do with the hesitation

i do, i think the ur fmu cant compensate for the cooler air, same problem with the cai.. to much cool air, not enough fuel, i bet the code it through is bank 1 to lean..
try riching up the fuel.. see if that solves it..

but if that was the case wouldn't it hesitate from the moment it was installed, it didn't start until 2 hours after I left his shop

pcm has to learn itself again.. so it was still running like it wasnt intercooled, therefore, it was running the ok settings, now the maf is dectecting alot cooler air and is tryin to compensate for that, but cant put enough fuel, go to a autozone and get them to pull the codes in the computer, and tell me what they are, if it is p 171(i think) Bank one to lean, either ur maf went bad or u need to adjust the FMU to give it more fuel.

the MAF went to the shit house. didn't cost me a cent

FYI for the 1.6 guys - Mazda extended the warranty to our MAF for 7 years

yeah, but they will only replace it so many times.. i am on my 3rd one..

i knew it was gonna be something with the maf..

not sure how much whp I'm pushing but the fmic made it noticeably nicer. wagner guessed around 170.
good thing now is the new maf cleared out the cel so maybe now I can pass north carolina emissions testing and not be driving around with an expired inspection sticker - hehe

first thing they do is check the cel, second thing is check the computer - no way around it

and third thing they do here is stick a sensor in your exhaust pipe, which means i cant get a sticker unless i find someone that likes money enough to skip that part.

nope...no cel (cel tricked) but you know the new emission laws in east baton rouge parish and the surrounding parishes...... they suck ass!!! b/c if i get pulled over and they find out i got an inspection sticker outside of my parish i get another ticket.....but they dont look at that too much. when i take a trip down there i might need to pick up an inspection sticker!

nah b/c my last inspection i got in east baton rouge parish...i live in ascension. but maybe cause they have the same laws? maybe a little cash will make someone overlook that? well anyway in a few weeks ill be living in orleans parish so it does not really matter i can just get one down there.....just gotta be carefull and not get pulled over until then.
