Ok, here is what happened... about two weeks ago I took a rough right turn to get into a parking lot (slight slope to enter it) and I heard: "klang! klang" while turning... (I had to hurry, an idiot was tailling my bumper).

Since then, I only drove intown and didn't tought of it afterwards. But this weekend I went to pay a visit to my parents and I had about 100km to do on the highway. While changing a CD, I noticed some kind of cyclic noise... some kind of rattling... So I let off the gas and it still went on so it wasn't the engine... Then I arrived at my place and I noticed somethins weird about my rear left wheel... It looks dropped but I'm totally stock suspension-side... Here is pictures of the right side vs left side... I even putted my fingers between the wheel and fenders to mesure the gap... see by yourselves..

jack up the car and take pictures (just of the bad one.) maybe me or someone else will be able to see then, make sure they are detailed pictures of all around under the wheel well. it would help greatly if you took the wheel off o take these pics.

you may have just blown a shock or even brokern a spring... if it was the spring you could probably sue mazda for the damages or have it covered under warranty.

hurry with t hose pics

I dont see the purpose of people tailgating, i usually scare them with a big long brake, then engage turbo, it seems like you might have hit something, and then the srping went out, cause that klang noise is the same noise you hear when you break a pen

actually, i think one side is supposed to sit higher than the other when the car is unloaded. mine is that way, which i thought was odd at first. but then i thought about it and realized that if someone were to actually be in the driver's seat, the ride height would be the same on both sides.

but yours is backwards i think....the driver's side should sit higher unloaded. i'll look at mine tomorrow to make sure.

try taking pics on level ground. Be sure to Jounce the suspension before measuring.

you have to be level the check that, if it were a broke spring you would be dropped more than that I would think.

ok right now i'm parked on gravel so i dunno if that's affecting anything right now....but i looked at mine for a couple of minutes and i think my PASSENGER side is slightly higher than the driver's side.....go figure on that one. i dunno what to say...you might be ok. unless mine's screwed up somehow.
