You have to host it on an external web site and then post a link with image tags.

sok07 - Your car looks hott, it looks lower then mine. What springs do you ahve on that? The spoiler looks good and i love the white on this car. You should take off the side moldings, IMO it makes the car look 10 times better. (thumb)

EDIT- just realized you have the 18" RX-8 wheels. looks good man.

Heh...when you said that I decided that I should double check the hyperlinks to the full-size view to the pictures that I posted on the previous page. Lo and behold, my links had an extra http:// tag on there :). Anyhow, all is fixed now.

What is the weight and offset of those?

Thanks. :) I think they would look great on just about any color.

I'm not sure of the weight...they were on the car when I bought it. I do believe they are close to stock in wieght. The offset is 48 (17 x 7.5) on 225/45-17's.

yeah .. that grille wasn't what I expected .. but once I got it on, it kind of grew on me .. plus I really didn't like the cheap plastic looking honey comb .. still keeping my eye open, but this one will do for a while.

I got it from http://stores.ebay.com/California-Auto-Performance-Online . I guess there are different models between the hatch and the sedan. I just emailed them and Brent made sure I got the right one.

I had the lower grille off once to do the test fit for my body kit. If I remember correctly, there are big pieces for the grille to clip into that look really funny with nothing clipped in them. I will try anyway

HEEEEEEEEELPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEAAAASSEE!!!!! i bought a '04 Mazda3 and I don't know what to do since it's AT. I don't like AT's, everytime i'm coming to a stop i look for the clutch and wander why the shifter feels so wierd (pissed)
I had a 2003 PR5 before that and it was pretty sweet besides that whoever had it before me prolly never did an oil change, abused the little. 2.0 pretty fucking bad and grinded the shit out of every single gear [including reverse...dumbass] ANYWAY, i want to nkow if it's possible for me to become friends with the 3's AT? I know it's tectronic but it's still not the same...not even close. Oh and one last thing, Injen RD or Fujita F5? and are they both 2-piece [so i can calm my paranoid ass about hydro-locking my engine and put an aem air bypass valve on] and what do you guys think of motegis on it? Anyway, here are the pics

the MAF is a pain since it's sitting in the air box instead of being on the air pipe..thing. Is there a way to put on a cone filter until i get my intake? and also are fujita and injen both 2 piece? i don't know which one to get since i'm planning on putting an AEM air bypass valve on it...it'd be awesome to hear your opinion on it. oh and what do you htink of the motegis on it?

AEM Bypass Valve is a waste of money. They dry out, disintegrate and get sucked into your intake.

Just don't drive through any lakes and you'll be fine. If you're that worried about it, use an SRI instead of a CAI.

they disintergrate and get sucked into my intake? well fuck that, thanks a lot. Would an SRI be as effifient as a CAI though?i nkow it's only like 3-5 ponys a the most with stock everything else but wouldn't it suck hot air in from around the engine bay?

Oh and for now i opened the stock air box a little bit, i'm not gonna screw anything up that way, am i? you nkow, rain and dust and stuff like that. it's basically just like a quarter inch open on all sides

I agree, i have driven in some realy heavy down pours with no problems, just miss the large deep puddles. and for a cone fillter with the MAF you would have to make some bracket to hold it in a tube kinda like the CAI do and the SRI. basicaly a custom SRI

I don't want to mess with the stock parts and lose money in case I decide to swap it out for something else so I think i'll just suffer with the electric razor sound for now...sounds a little better though since i spread the air box a little

what's a drop in? like the flat type of filter? and you mean getting rid of the bottom part of the air box and somehow taping the filter to the top part of the air box...right?

...or do you think i could put a hole in the top of the cone filter and secure the MAF in there and just let the temp. sonsor dangle around in the coolest spot? ....nvm too much work

SO WHAT ARE THE TOP CHOICES FOR SHORT RAMS/COLD AIRS ON THE MARKET FOR THE MAZDA3???
or have yhou guys had any problems with any of em?

Yea a K&N flat filter, and no leave the air box alone, there is a plastic tube runing into the bottom were the air comes in to the box some peole have removed that saying its is restrictive, but i don't remember if there were any problems with that. here is a pick of the removed part

as for CAI i love my AEM, just wish i had the new filter that does not use oil. Might be ordering one of them. if i got something different i would have got an injen CAI. but hell you could get the mazda speed one (just like the aem but comes with a shield to "help" block water and have the dealer install it might help retain the warenty???

hell yeah, thanks!!! i figured i'll go with the AEM and just get a bypass valve to calm my ass about hydro-locking my engine, it gets scary here in GA when it starts raining...puddles everywhere, almost like little lakes. But let me guess, the aem filter with oil helps keeping the moisture away from being sucked in, right? Why do you wanna go with a regular one though?

Well all their new CAI come with a filter that does not use oil, the problem that can happen with an oiled filter is if you over oil it and that gets sucked up the intake to were the mass air flow sesor is it can mess it up. so AEM came up with a filter that needs no oil but still can be cleaned.

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l~!~!~! CONGRATS, Man!!
The wing and the wheels I'm STILL not quite feeling, but I'd settle for them to get the rest!
And, I too wish we were getting Aurora Blue (much like winning blue) as an alternative to the Cosmic, or the Sunlight Silver.
Move that intercooler to the front lower grille! (lol)
Why aren't they (Mazda) offering any special colors (Spicy Orange, Copper Red, SOLAR Yellow,) ya' know something a little different and exciting? Red, black, silver and a dull, boring blue.... BLAH!!!! Even Rally White would give a good grounding to start something with. Just ask me!! (poke)

Nice.
I like the yellow fogs. You should look into the blue RockBlockers for the heads. That would look sweet.
I'm also jealous of the roof.
Is it auto or stick?
A little color correction of the pics (back to red. Back off the orange and blue) would make it look even nicer.

I used red Metal-Cast paint. But be forewarned, if you are gonna do it. Prepare for frequent repaints/touch-ups to keep it looking good.... especially in the front. The good news is that the more you do it, the less you need to. The Texas summer sun fades red pretty quickly and stones/bugs/road debris doesn't help either.
I'm on my second full spray job and had to touch up twice before that. I completely gave up on the front plate surround and just took it off.

Very nice. There are a lot of nice looking mazda 3's in this thread. My next car will be a white 3 with the sports package. Never liked white and have seen two in the last week and they look sharp and now I want one but new townhome owns me.

Mine was supposed to be either Rally White, or my first choice, Solar Yellow. My wife HATES yellow cars and the only one in the area (end of the model year) was an Auto w/leather and I didn't want either.
Since white is a value not a color, it does offer you a lot of choices for personalizing it. And I do think the 3's look good in white too. I believe it helps to bring out the lines of the car better. Plus, there don't seem to be that many out there so you don't see yourself coming and going all the time. Titanium Gray comes to mind. No offense TG drivers. (Two of my buds own Tit Grays.)
But I like the Rally White better than the Whitewater Pearl.
My co-worker has an MPV in WWP (she bought it after I was so happy w/my 3) and it really looks like crap unless it's really clean and the sun is shining on it. Then it looks good, but I wouldn't pay another $200 for it.
If I had to choose an available color right now, I don't know what I'd end up with. My three favorites have all been replaced... Rally White, Solar Yellow and Velocity Red!

Nope! Not far at all.
I've been in the greater Austin, TX area now since March of '95.
We took my 3 up there last fall and it snowed several times. The worst was on the day we were leaving for home... of course. I still had the BadYears on. THAT was fun... NOT!!
We've recently lost one of ours to you guys up there. Perhaps you know Kodiac 3, Sean? Now in Flemington.

Ah Nazareth.... Home of the Martin Guitar and the Andrettis.
I grew up 10 miles away in Martins Creek. Visited Martin several times, including having my own worked on in the old building downtown.
A nephew and his wife are living there now. We were just there last fall when we visited.
I don't know about all of it's politics these days, but that is one pretty (re: picturesque) little town.
And you're up for an MS3 too, I see!! Wish I were there.... Very Cool!! Good luck, Man... and watch out for the po-po. They'll be watching for you.

Though I have bought into the current gunmetal finish wheels trend, and would do that to my white, I really like the silver wheels on your CR.

you have stock rx-8 tires as well or are they lower profile?

mine are stock rx-8 rims and tires (235-45r18) and it really looks that if i put the h-techs on, there's gonna be rubbing

i think i need to go lower profile anyway, as the gearing ratios have changed now (+2 overall) and my car is *STUPIDLY* slower on launch now, and i'm getting worse gas mileage

i mighta screwed up here by putting them on... :(

My car is lowered 2 inches and I get around just fine in the winter. Do the roads ever really get more than 4 inches of snow without being plowed? Like if you want to be out driving during the heart of a crazy blizzard, then it may not be a good idea.

I'm in Michigan so...yeah sometimes ;)

I had a wrx with snow tires, and going from that to this car will be night and day.. I had the wrx lowered but I'm scared to do it in this just because of lack of traction. I already notice the lack of grip when pulling out into traffic in wet conditions. Just curious what it would be like lowered and with snow.. just kind of scares me.

If you have the Badyear RSAs, then you're screwed no matter what kind of conditions you're driving in. I changed my tires before last winter and it made all the difference in the world. Even with mine lowered, I didn't have any problems at all, and that was just with all-seasons. I'm going to get some winters this year, so it should be even better.

The car does really well with some decent snow tires (Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s for the win). I've driven in some really harsh blizzards and lake-effect snow situations without issue. i have also driven in snow deeper than my car's ground clearance.

Please tell me about your wheel/tire combo. Looks really nice. I wonder if the wheels come in be bronze. I am thinking bronze with the Aurora Blue.

Wheels are Rota Subzeros. 17x7.5 +48mm offset. They are in a variety of colors, including bronze. Weight on the 17s is about 17 lbs per wheel. As for tires summer, I run 225/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports and in the winter I run the same size in the Kumho ASX.

Sir, just for your edification: Colour is the English English way of spelling it. Same goes for favour, neighbour, and behaviour. Sorry, I can't think of any other examples right now, but just for fun you can change the regional settings on your computer to English (United Kingdom) and let spell-check show you the way. BTW, I just checked, and there are 13 different English choices; from Australia to Zimbabwe. My childrens' school follows an international program where British English prevails. They call an eraser a "rubber." My 7 year old daughter is always looking for her lost rubber!

Back on topic (sort of):

I guess that's what I get for ordering sight-unseen. My dad went to the dealer yesterday to see my car. I will have to give him a call to see what he thinks. He is a die-hard silver/gray car guy, so if he gives even the most meager approval, my Aurora Blue choice will be vindicated.

I modded my last car into the $12k+ range (2003 WRX) so this car won't be getting modded. The only thing I plan on doing is tinting the windows and perhaps later getting a set of springs to lower the stance.

Here's a snap of my old car:

:) So far I'm extrememly happy with the craftsmanship of the Mazda. Subaru's are nice but the interior wasn't as nice. The mazda's body panels and doors just seem to be better manufactured and there's no 'dong' sound when I shut the door, unlike my Suby.

Thumbs up! Perhaps when the warranty runs out I'l get a Hi-Boost Kit :)

You all have some nice Mazda 3's and Mazdaspeed 3's. I can't wait till some of the MS3 guys start doing some suspension work and throw some wheels on their cars.

As far as insurance rates go, it will depends solely on you residence and age. When I lived in Southfield, MI (right next to Farmington Hills) my insurance was more expensive that it is here in the Bay Area, CA. Age does play a role, but you location plays an equally large role too. The Detroit Metro was one the worst areas to live as far as traffic accidents go and that was why it would cost so much, not to mention all the stolen cars. For some interesting reading google Determining Auto Insurance Rates or check out http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-insurance.htm.

Now back to the cars...post some more cool pictures.

Yes in order to install the Halo's you need to bake the headlights to soften the glue. So you can take the lights apart.

just bake them. the procedure is actually much simpler than you think it would be. dont let the part about baking your headlights scare you. i guarantee you they will not melt at 200 degrees. it just gets them hot enough to soften the glue.

That front grille does wonders for the look of the 3 hatchback.. it just looks so odd with the stock grille IMO.

I agree. I hated the stock slatted grille. I was glad I was able to find this one from a JDM/AUS Mazda3. It makes my car different, but still retains a stock look.

I just like it when the material/style of the upper grille matches the lower grille, hence why I just did a couple little mods to my stock upper grille (painting the top strip and emblem to match the sunlight silver of my car).

I <3 modding via OEM parts :)

Werd. The JDM grille has oval openings, and the lower grille has more diamond shapes. Most people will not notice the difference. I just think that the style just flows better. At the time that I found this grille, there weren't any aftermarket ones available. Now there are lots of choices, but I still prefer this one. :)

wow laraw your 3 looks amazing... wooow! You definitely picked the nicest color Mazda has ever offered, I've seen it on the Mazda5 and CX-7 but never on the 3. it's so good looking.

Oh hey just noticed you're from CT too, check out the NEPOC section of the forums. It's mostly Protege people but the new models are more than welcome :)

Thanks for the compliments Kansei... I had my heart set on the black mica until I saw the phantom blue on the lot. There was no turning back once I saw her!

I have been drooling over all the modification ideas. Sadly I don't know ANYTHING about modding cars, and nobody I know does either. I'll have to keep her stock until my boyfriend can learn some car mechanics. Hahah.

Anyways, thanks so much, I'll head over to NEPOC right now ^_^.
