7hp, 26tq difference...but the miata is 350-400lbs lighter and has better gearing. The solstice has bigger tires 245 vs 205. So which would u get if you're spending your own money, and why?

I'd get the saturn sky based on looks alone. Saw one in person at the dallas auto show and it was BEAUTIFULL. Looked way better than the Solstice.

i think mazda may have just a *tad* more experience in how to tune the 'feel' of a roadster just right ;)

always bet on the zoom zoom ;)

I was going to get a sky but realized there are no pics of the sky with the top up... So i'm guessing it might be ugly as fuck.

I'd lean toward the Solstice, because I prefer the design to the Sky (though I see where the proponents of the Sky are coming from), and I think it's going to be more easily tuned than the Miata. Dark gray, with black leather and a black top, please.

I'm leaning to the Pontiac. GM will be easyer to mod and the pontiac starts at 19k. Plus if the interior is anything like the pictures the GM cars are gona put the Mazda to shame. But I'll wait until they are out a yr befor I buy one. Yes I already have it in the plans.

Yeah, but in the last few years GM quality has been absolute shit, and no one knows what it's going to be in the next generation. Mazda, on the other hand, has been time proven to make great roadsters.

If I can fit in the 3rd gen, I'd take a Miata.

and just like the RX-8, the base mx-5 will be the fastest one ;)

I don't know, Im banking on GM to put it to it with then new line of cars. They have to come out with some really good cars or go bust. And I bet they will be faster! Maybe not in the turns, will have to see. I'm putting my money on GM. But I'm a sucker for the under dogs.

isn't the Miata RWD?

The Miata is RWD. The build quality would have to be top notch for me to get a Solstice or a Sky. The trunk in the GM cars looks to be really small with the top down. I know it's a sports car and trunk size should be irrelevant, but when I had my Miata I would use it for a getaway weekend with my wife sometimes. The trunk was nice for that and not much else.
As far as power goes, I could care less. I'm more concerned with cornering ability. As long as it's not a slug off the line, I'm happy.
Having seen GM's quality slip through the years, I'll probably go with the Miata. I hope GM gets better, but it'll take more than just a few cars in a few years to bring me back.

Did you just call GM the underdog? What the fuck?
