this past year emissions testing hit the part of NC I'm at. the car threw a CEL three years ago when I had a cai at the time, so sick of seeing the CEL lit up all the time I removed the bulb. so now today at the inspection place I had to put a bulb back in. sure enough I'm pulling a CEL. inspection dude clears the CEL and it stays off. then he tells me he isn't getting a reading because the car needs to be ran for a few days to get everything going.

I reset (unplugged battery for a minute) and plan on driving under boost until the inspection, any tips I'm all ears

the tech should have automatically fail you for the turbo and cel. You would have failed visual inspection, thats how it is in Cali. Don't know the emission test rules there. I'm assuming that your 1st cat is removed becuz of the turbo, thats not going to pass the sniffer. Run the car to normal operating temp before the test. And see if you pass, or put two cats on, just for the test.
