So, my starter finally gave out. It was periodically not turning over and just slowly whining.
Tonight, it whined for a bit, then stopped. Smelt like burning clutch (battery like smell) and then now it just clicks and doesn't even whine.
Can anyone confirm that this is in fact a dead starter? The battery is fine and fully charged.
Is a starter typically covered under warranty when at 52000 KM or 32000 Miles. I have extended warranty. But, I also have a MAM Street Sleeper and a remote starter. I don't really want to argue over getting it fixed under warranty if it's an inexpensive part. Especially since I'm not 100% sure the remote start didn't cause this.
Typical price for a new starter and is there a how-to?
