is it worth it to get HID?, i really want bright lights with a blue tint, but i don't know whether to get 90w bulbs( i have seen them on an msp and they r BRIGHT) or spend the extra cash and get the HID's......
any brand/model recomended? output? reliavility? is there a kit that keeps the highs?
Thanks

Yes it's worth it. Get something around 4000-6000K bulbs and they're worth every penny.

I love my Xtec HID's. It took awhile to convince myself that I needed HID's, but now I don't think I can ever go back to regular bulbs. I recommend 6000k.

If I remember correctly they were somewhere around $330 shipped. As for install, it takes about 3 minutes. The Xtecs are direct plug and play.

No problems yet, but either way these come with a lifetime warranty. You do lose the high beams, but to get HID's with high beams you are looking at nearly double the price. Here is a picture of what 6000k look like, I think it compares closest to Audi HIDs.

If you don't want to lose your high beams trade with someone's P5 lights. They have amazing light output even without HIDs, but I'm considering HIDs if I ever have a random 300 or so that I don't want to put towards my turbo fund (never)
zverg is correct. CustomMSP has the P5 headlights on his MSP and he says that the light output (beam pattern) is much better than with the single bulb protege headlights.

In some big car roundup it was rated as having the best headlights period, beating the range of all the HID cars in the comparison and without the glare.
Looks like Mazda did something right, though from the looks of it probably by chance not design.

Don't waste your money. You'll get the same effect with $30 purple bulbs.
