So I just picked up a used 3.5 MSP on Monday, and have only been driving it to and from the train station until today. The car just turned 14K and already had an installed Injen CAI and a blow-off valve which I have yet to locate though can definitely hear... In any case, the car has been running great until tonight. I get in the car to show it to one of my friends, and I'm on the highway at first it's fine then it feels a little sluggish and the cel comes on. For the rest of the night the light stayed on and it was intermittenly sluggish. At wot it was almost 100% normal but at 50% it felt way off. I'm new to the FI wold as I come from an NA 93-MX-6 FS-03 that I kept NA. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I did some research and it seems like this so called "flash" of the ECU would have already been done by now...

Had a similar experience with my MSP this evening. Mine has a few more mods than yours though. Some improvement after I tightend everything down, but still not right.

my cel keeps comming on and off also. Something about running lean, or a bad 02 sensor, have to get it checked out...

WOW! Have you looked under the hood?
he is probably referring to our bypass valve.
it's louder than most blow off valves.

as for slugishness......make sure the intercooler piping is on tight, especially on the intercooler and throttle body.

also check the nipple for the BPV on the hot pipe, they are not strong and can crack easily.

if the BPV was working properly, i'd wager it would be silent... the noise is probably the surge.

check the code before you do anything, imho.

that is weird cuz I have the stock BPV and I hear no gobble, but some fluttering. Very minimal fluttering. It is loud as fuck for some reason. Oh well I like it so everyone else just has to hear it too :P
