my 1st NEW car! a little help please...

I just bought a brand new 5spd 03 Silver Pro DX and I LOVE it! I got it for $12,060 out the door (after tax/license/destination) which, i understand, is less than invoice:D I have a few, possibly foolish questions for all you afficionados: I have those ugly plastic side mouldings and handles, should i get them painted/replaced at the dealer or elsewhere? The stupid DX has no tach, which is the best aftermarket one and how hard are they to install? I've read about and love everyone's MP3 front bumper and wing conversions, approx. how much will those put me back? Thank you in advance for all your help!

Congrats on the DX! I bought one about six months ago and love it. I chose the DX because its weight advantage over the others and because its an exc. platform to start with if you like to do more than go fast in a straight line. I've not had the chance to do much yet, (just got married, moved, etc.), but I did install a tach. (Less than forty bucks from Summit Racing for a shift light tach) I replaced the lights inside it with wide angle green LED's to match the dash lights. I'll try to get some pics soon if you want. There are only four wires to hook up, very simple. Do a search on this site for tach's. Good luck and hope you enjoy!

Yeah, I'd love to see pics! Where did you mount the tach? Is it big and cheesy? Was there already wiring that mazda was just too cheap to let us have a tach, or did you have to do some tricky things w/the engine. Sorry I'm not a super-mechanic like a lotta you guys...Thanks for your help!
