Does anybody know where I can get these clear bumper lens'? I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find them. I've seen them on some P5's but, where did they get them? I have a white 2003 P5 and that amber lens just doesn't look right, can someone pleae help me find these?

they dont make them for the P5...the ones you see on a P5 are from RX-7's or a Celica. but they need a little mod to fit and they dont fit perfectly. correct me if I am wrong.

i've installed the lens your talking about and you're right, they don't fit perfectly. i've got one on and i'm trying to think of a way to motify the piece so it fits flush to the car. i do like the clear look though.

Bazooka Joe:
Which one do you have? The $160 RX7 ones, or the Celica ones?

$160 for a pair??
Talking about these:

yeah, there are JDM clear front bumper lights for an RX7 that are supposed to fit in place of those. They run 159 for a pair. There are some aftermarket lenses put out by other companies, but they tend to be the diamond type of lens vs. a white lens.

Hello my fellow MP5 owner's,
I appreciate all your replys, I just have one more request can anybody sent me a pic. of a installed clear lens? What year are the lens' form on the Celica and the RX-7?
One more thing how are Progress Spring? Does anybody have these springs on their P5? How is the ride?

Hey,
There is a post out there with instructions on how to insert clear bumper lenses. I believe he used the Eclipse lenses. You can pic them up for cheap, cheaper than $160.00. If I find the post I'll let you know.

I also heard 95 Neon lenes would work with some modding!

hmm, interesting.
clear would look much better than the stock amber ones. These are street legal right?? they also sound a bit hard to swap out in case you ever gotta go back to mazda for any warranty work.
yes, any pics of clears installed?

I used the celica ones they are for the 2000 and up celica. It fit flush but there is a slight gap between the light and the edge of the hole for the stock light. If you have a midnight blue or black p5 you won't see it. if you want close pics click the www button on the bottom of my post and look at the page there are a few closer pics.

I picked up a pair of the clear Celica lenses from Streetbeatcustoms.com.
I have a black PR5 and the gap between the bumper and the lens was just to much. If I could find a rubber grommet to sandwich between the bumper and the lens then I could get this to work.
Our side turn signals have a rubber seal around them between the fender and the lens... Why not the bumper lens?
Do the RX7's have a rubber grommet for their clear lenses?
My other thought is this. The stock amber lens is made by Stanley. Part # P2009. ANYONE know a good place to see if they carry our lens in clear? Stanley.com is not available yet...

i made up a "rubber gasket" for the lens i bought. i'll take some pick once i get them on.

I heard a heat gun will take off the amber lens. It is something a buddy from Chicago told me. I will give him a call to see about any details. I've been wanting to do this but it's too damn cold here right now

hey bazooka joe-
what did you make it out of??? and is the seal tight??
bazooka joe
01-28-2003, 08:37 AM
i made it out of rubberized foam. i don't have it on yet, but i'm sure it will be water tight. i'll get some pic's up this weekend, if it warms up outside!! it's 2 degrees today!!!!

there is a gap you cant fix unless you mod the bumper....now that i know a little more, the rx7 or eclipse clears seem to work better.
wow, this thread is old, its like one of the first threads i posted to.

Rubber door trim. The stuff you use to put along the edge of the door to keep it from getting scratched.

And where would one pick this rubber door trim up? Those are the RX-7 lights from Pro Car Parts? Looks really good, did you do any other modifications aside from the rubber trim?

I picked the rubber door trim at any Auto-zone type place. It's the stuff that also comes in chrome, and looks really ghetto whem ppl put them on the doors of their cars. Yeah, those are the Pro-Car parts ones. You have to cut alot of plastic off the back of the lens, and you have to trim the bumper just a hair.
EDIT: Almost forgot, you have to peel the black foam trim off that comes on the lens' .
Double Edit: Procarparts has them on e-bay alot cheaper, so if you get them, get them from e-bay.

I have a pair of RX-7 clears on my bumper now. With a touch more cutting of the bumper, the lenses fitted perfectly, without having anything on their back shaved.
The only problem I found was that the lenses weren't flush against the bumper, leaving a gap about the thickness of a quarter. And that they moved back and forth slightly.
This may sound a bit ghetto, but the way I remedied this problem was by wedging a few coins in between the screw that holds the lens in place and the bumper.
The lenses are now flush against the bumper and secured very well. In fact, I didn't have to use any excess door trimming whatsoever. The stock lenses snap back into place as well, with no problem.
I'd take some pics, but my digicam has suffered an early death. :( I'll shoot you a PM with my number if you need help installing :)

there was a tip posted a few weeks ago about bulbs.
you can buy silver spray paint and paint the bulbs silver. they wont look as ugly in the day and they'll still light up orange at night.
looks good so far except for the bulb =D
mp5driva-no company makes clear sides specifically for the p5 yet =(

I silvered the front turn signal bulbs, and I must admit, the effect is great. The difference is subtle, but like the orange bumper lenses, you won't regret it.
I am a lil hesistant to try it on the bumper and fender bulbs because of their size. They're out in the open and not really hidden behind opaque glass, so the spray paint job may look very obvious from up close. Also, it's very easy to overspray and end up with a bulb that won't outshine a firefly.

just an fyi. i installed the rx7 knock offs from pro car parts. they leak bad. i wrote to them and the said it is a common problem  oh, well. i've got to real seal them with silicon. :'(

I put some 3mm black foam stuff between my light and the car to help with any gap.. you can't even tell! I'll check it after it rains to make sure no water gets in..
thanks so much to everyone for all the help.

APC makes a bulb that is already silvered, I put them in my last cars turn signals. They look pretty good, kinda like chrome.
They're called Titans if anybody's interested.

Do they fit in our P5's front bumper light and fender lights by the door ? If so, do you have a website that lists their products ?
Thanks~
