Exhaust leak ?

Sounds like I have an exhaust leak so I started poking around the engine bay.
I pulled back the heat shield and it looks like im missing a stud/bolt??
Probably a stupid request but can someone confirm we are supposed to have 10 and not 9 studs? Also, notice some of the studs do not appear to be studs but bolts?? Is using a combo of studs and bolts normal ? This is the first time ive removed the heat shield and taken a look.
Lastly, on the right side of the head where it meets the manifold, there appears to be some type of white chalky type of build up. Could this be a sign of an exhuast leak ? The left side of the head is completely clean.
I appreciate any assistance.

Yes you are missing a bolt. Take it to a dealer so that they can replace it and more than likely your exhaust manifold gasket.

Ha, I just found mine to be backed halfway out yesterday! It was the exact same bolt, too. Weird.

alright is it just me or does everyone else keep loosing the bolts to he heat shield. I've never taken them off and I have repklaced one of them and tightened it good.
just frustrating reminded me when everyones talking about loosing bolts. thanks for leting me vent.
