not necessarily. many companies are realizing that outsourcing does not work -> missed deadlines, over budget, miscommunication. software now adays is a lot more complicated than it was 10 years ago and in order for a project to be complete, programmers must have proper requirements and understand what is needed of them. many companies are bringing projects back inhouse.

the company i work for is outsourcing one small project... TO ME. they are paying me $1k for my own time (basically off the clock) that i spend on the project.

chances of him getting a job as a programmer in US are very good. make sure you study hard and get good grades :)
and oh yeah, once you graduate, forgot 90% of what you learned and start learning again when you get a job.

True. I'm going into hardware not software, even though i can do both. rather be designing circuits and chips, then doing a million lines of programming code. Still having nightmares from all the programming classes i've taken.

thats kewl. I was going for both.....1st Electronics Engineering tech. then Network admin and support. Then, 9/11 happened and economy went to shit in USA and I saw alot of computer jobs kinda disapear. Therefore I switched to something that will ALWAYS be around....hense, Civil Engineering Technology.

Speaking on your topic...When you're software programmer, if you make a mistake you can go back into open source change few lines and it might solve the problem where as, if you are electronics engineer, if you make one mistake on circuit board you have to re-do the WHOLE spagetti of the wires and circuits

Before you bulid anything, you design your circuit and run the schematic in a computer program. This will help simulate everything.

Tanks, but the insides are the same, (FS-DE engine 2.0 DOHC). The taillights
from the MP would be a nice AM addition here, it would be unique where I live.

For some reason Ford qualifies the Lynx as 140ps, when I know that there its 130HP. Maybe some marketing strategy.

oh I just notticed, you live in PA. If you will indeed have the '03 ES, you should look into MTMA club which is Mazda Team Mid-Atlantic club, which holds NY, NJ, PA and DE states in it. Check out www.mazdateam.org (http://www.mazdateam.org/) for info. Also check out the meets section here and there as well, we are having a BBQ meet in NJ on August 6th.

trying for the current shuttle (since that is the major problem with them) but they are also looking at some other options until we can test our stuff...so i guess to answer your question the current shuttle's ET is what we are shooting for but the same tech from these materials and composits will be used in future designs and on future air/spacecrafts

It's better to be working on the current shuttle's budget, the new design program had their budget cut a few weeks ago.

Haha I wasn't able to go with my coworkers to the Cape, but I heard there were a lot of protestors at the launch. I will hopefully be down for the next launch, I haven't seen one in person yet. Yeah the 9 years suck too, I wonder if I will still be here then.

Yeah, automotive is the aim so far, haven't really narrowed it down to anything in particular. After this next semester I should start hitting more of the electives to get an idea of what exactly I want to do...

How bout you?

Oh and is your program similar to mine...only a 4 year program if you're nuts and take 20 credits per semester?

im working with composite materials right now which i didnt think id like as much as i am, but id like to do something automotive. yea our program is recomended for 5 years. you can graduate in 4yrs if you take 20 credits and pass everything above a C which is pretty much impossible at the university of new orleans. every class is a drop class, they want you to struggle and drop out. say 1,000 kids start in ME, about 20 to 30 will make it through. an ME degree from UNO is respected and known that you went through hell.

QuenteK25
08-02-2006, 09:35 AM
Sounds rough...Our program admits about 200 a year and probably has around 800-1100 students at any given moment. We have the C-grade policy as well, but not every class is an absolute killer. There are the famous ones for being hard (Thermo, etc) but a handful that are really enjoyable and not deadly too.

Actually, we are involved in trying to rebuild Afghanistan. Sadly, some the "individuals" are taking liberties with our troops being there and doing what they can to prevent us from helping. And, we are a country of 30+ million people that isn't part of the United States, so, we aren't as publicized in our mission. Our troops are still dying/getting injured, go figure.

Well, its not reallt suicide drills. What I do is make them run butterflies. A jog from the corner to mid line then a full sprint diagnal to the other corner, up the line to mid line and back to 1st corner. Usually 7 times gets one kid to puke his guts. Its even better after they just chugged a bunch of water.
