Alright, I drive my car very nicely. I don't take it to the drag strip or anything...
I think that my 3rd "brand new" catalytic converter has developed a crack at the weld again. Im getting under it this weekend to take a look at it and see if this is infact what is wrong.
1st one was replaced under warranty (even thought I have a JDM motor)
the next 2, I paid for.
Anyone else have a problem with their cats breaking/welds coming undone???
The only thing that I can think to cause this is a bad motor mount letting the engine lean on the exhaust the wrong way...I've had them looked at and the dealer says they are still good.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

i thought the primary cat had a bracket on the block so it wouldn't crack when the engine moved as it woudl move with the engine. . . ...awr mounts and kartboy hangars?
or is this the second cat?

I have Kartboy hangers and RB catback mixed with a AWR header currently.
It happened b4 I had all these mods too. When my car had like 20 - 30K miles on it.
I was curious to see if this was maybe a flaw in the design from the factory and if other have had this problem.

Is there emissions testing in VA? If not, put a test pipe in place of that cat! I'm doing that soon.
Oh and THANKS for recommending the Racing Beat catback instead of the MP3 muffler. It's fucking awesome!

Unfortunately there is emissions testing up here.
Well I would hope that you like the RB! I don't want to be the one you blame for not liking it :P

kartboy hangers certainly won't help it. they place a lot of stress on the exhaust.
