hey guys,

i just purchased a dynamat xtream trunk kit. i wanted to know if it is at all difficult to install. also, how do the panels in the trunk to a 5 door remove? thanks guys any other information would be appriciated.

ive had all the trunk panels out countless times. its prety easy, just take out the carpet on the bottom and then with a pick of some sort just pop the little pins that are all over the inside of the trunk out. u pull the middle of them out then the whole pin comes out. while i was dynamating my trunk it was pretty easy too, you just peel the back off it and stick it to the inside of the trunk. make sure its pressed on there firmly tho.

haven't done my trunk yet, just the doors, but those weren't to bad so i would think the trunk would be easier b/c of less shiat in your way and to put back....

its sound deadening.... there are other brands, brown bread, tsunami, e-dead etc... basicaly you have two options with sound deadening asphalt or butyl backed material, the asphalt is cheaper but smelly (at first) and sometimes one layer doesn't always do it. butyl is more $$ but no smell and usually one layer is all it takes. i highly recomend doing this to your doors at least, and if you are putting in a sub the trunk and rear wheel wells are always a good idea....(stops most rattling and makes the music sound better b/c there is a sound surface for the waves to bounce from not just some metal and wires)

You forgot an option.....Rhino Linings. Yes i know its a spray in truck bed liner but one layer of that stuff is the equivelant of 3 to 4 layers of regular dynamat. The only reason i would have ever thought of this is just because my friend and i are opening a rhino linings shop here in michigan. Ive already gotta turbo civic with a roll cage and a 240sx to spray (not for noise from subs though)

i just listed off a few that i knew of, i have used dyna mat in a prev car, and have tsunami extreme (butyl) in my mazda3... like it much better then the asphalt stuff, and i didn't even install the dynamat...

yeah i dynamated the hatch today but the spoiler still rattles. how do i get it disconnected from the middle of the hatch. is it just a hard yank? thanks again

dang, what r u running and how loud? i have no vibration problems what-so-ever...& i never took off the spoiler, so unforutnately, i cannot answer your question. i basically dynomatted the license plate area well.

do a search for that, i can't remember but there was another guy on here who had a 3 with a spoiler rattle and he got it taken care....

its a jl audio 12w7 runnin about 500 watts. i actually am waiting for my 1000 watt amp. but yeah it rattles like a mofo.
