It is if you are happy with not having a fast car. It is a nice car, just not fast.

Well thing is, after I buy this car I won't have money for a while to do any mods to it.
I'd be happy with a stock MSP :)

Since when is 0-60 in ~7 seconds not fast?
I like the car how it is. Quick in a straight line, nearly untouchable in a corner.

I think its worth it .... but I also think it will be hard to buy one and then not upgrade it. Once people here start upgrading theirs and we see the dyno's and pics it will be hard not to follow.
Even if you dont upgrade it, you still have a very limited edition car and people will want to check it out regardless. At first I was not to sure about getting the MSP, I was thinking of buying a Cavalier or P5 and then putting turbo, changing suspension, audio, etc... But by the time all of that is done you have little warranty left on the car and you are already at the same price of the MSP.
In my opinion this is a very good deal, I just hope the damn motor and drivetrain hold up once the motors get boosted up, if not my opinion will change in a hurry.

When your used to driving a 12 sec car and you race for a living, the MSP is not fast. Now on the other hand, if you normally drive a minivan, then to you it would feel fast. I apologize for offending you, but a true racer would understand. I go by the Quarter mile. 14's in the quarter mile is not that impressive. It is quicker than alot of cars. But for the same price, the new neon will blow it away. Again like I said, if you are content with not having a fast car (what anyone would call it who truly builds cars to make them fast, not someone who thinks mods are winshield washer neons) then the car is great.

Also don't forget that for the same price the new neon is the only car that will blow it away. It's as fast or a little bit faster than the rest of the competition. So don't get it twisted, the Mazdaspeed is a quick well packaged vehicle. But if fast is what you want, you want an import and you want to stay different an unique go buy a used 1998-2001 Subaru 2.5RS and buy a WRX motor. For just over $20k, you'll have yourself a high 13 second car that is reliable and you'll still be very unique. Unique meaning not seen everyday or heard of by most people. Those are just my thoughts though.
tekkie, is there a larger picture of that icon your using? I haven't seen that picture before?
And Shannon....congrats, and welcome aboard. Always nice to have a new MSP owner around.
Where did you get your BOV, and turbo timer? You mind telling me how much?

BOV is a HKS super sequential from my 91 MR2 turbo from three years ago. The turbo timer is a greddy hardwired in They don't make a harness for it yet. Intake is just a filter on the mass air flow sensor. Boost controller is a turbo XS dual stage turned up to 9PSI. Car has a boost cut at 12 PSI. Car needs a real downpipe to get rid of the stock MP3 cat. The biggest restrictions on the car are the small intercooler and exhaust. The car should easily make 200 hp to the wheels with these few mods. The boost controller made a world of difference. It feels sooooo much better. But dont leave in on when you take it back to the dealer.

man i drove the orange mazdaspeed at irvine mazda, damn that car is sooo sick, if your worried about not going fast, you shouldn't be because it's quick as fuck. Right after i drove it i whent and drove the 2003 gti 1.8t and speed felt faster then it. I redlined both cars cause i wanted to know how fast the msp would really be.
'
Shannan, are you aware of the tamper proof clamps on the speed? If broken, your warranty is gone.

newf send me your email, I will email them to you, I actually do not remember where I got them, some website on a review I believe. I would post them here but each of the pics (8 I believe) are around 600k each.
