My 03 LX. I have to say next to the B&M shifter the drilled and slotted rotors are the best mod to date. The stopping distance dropped greatly.

How come you're selling the rims? They look pretty sweet! What are they and what size? Have any pics of the red rotas you're buying?

just not quite the style i'm going for i bought them because i was in an accident and needed to pick up a set of rims and they were what i could afford their 17x7 katana vr-6 they were supposed to be bronze but the idiots at wheelguys.com screwed up my order anyway the look im going for is that jdm kinda look heres a pic of the rims i'm getting they'll either be red or bronze still haven't decided yet

You can get it from Corksport, you'd just need the headlights/fenders and a 99-99 hood as well.

you dont need the headlights and such for the sport20 bumper ... but it fits a lot nicer with them ... talk to negatize about it ... he has the sport20 bumper with stock headlights,hood,fenders ... etc ...

i know i am still torn wether i am gettin rid of it or not.... i dunno, miata is really tempting... but i have done so much to my car, its 10 times better without the stereo in the back too..

there is only 1 pipe coming off of it, in order for it to be an actual intercooler there are 2 pipes ... for air to enter and exit if it only has one pipe its just a cold air intake that runs upfront with a funny filter to make it look like an intercooler.

sorry if you already know how an intercooler works ... i kinda went overboard on the explanation there ....

and thanks MIAprotege i have never seen tims lip in person or anything so i dont really know what it looks like i have seen 3 pictures and thats it.

possible, but highly unlikely, that would restrect alot of air flow to take a sharp u turn like that..

It's on some Canadian Protege's stock. I don't know the part number because I bought it off a Canadian who wanted a black one instead on their cars. :(

yeah definitely tinting it to 5% all around this coming tuesday. Made the appointment today actually. Yeah I've gotten alot of negative feedback about the wing. I too feel it was a bumbass thing to do. I'm definitely not leaving the car flat black. But I do think I'm going to go with a gloss black and then maybe change out the rims to either black with polished lip, or bronze rims. And yeah I'm definitely keeping the carbon fiber tail lights. Maybe later on I'll bake em and paint the housing black, but for now they're stayin.

But I just found out in another post that OBX really doesn't have any headers for me. cai- if you can find one that works
corksport exhaust, good upgrade
intake chip, doesnt work on any model protege
fidonza short shifter, good upgrade
jdm voltage stabalizer... never heard of it..
Cam upgrade- ZL-VE cams, slightly more agressive
miata 1.6l lightweight flywheel- bolts right up..

Hi-boost turbo upgrade with good clutch around 4000ish
msp turbo swap prolly around 2000-3000 if your lucky, then if you want real power, forged motor 2000(mam shortblock, i think its 2000, might be wrong)
headbolts etc......

what i am tryin to get at is a turbo on ur 1.6l would be cheaper and can hold more power on stock internals than the 2.0l.

u can try and get them through corksport, u have to call and ask for them
also if you do this get the adjustable cam gears while u are at it..
and they make underdrive pulleys for our car too.. 1.6l , for the altenator, waterpump and crank pully..

its not the clutch from the miata, its the aftermarket lightweight flywheel..

the zl-ve are a bit more agressive in the mid range, and cam gears only make them better, only one person has did this upgrade.

corksport sells the engine, I think they want like $2500 for it...you would need a standalone that can control the S-VT system, it is similar to the toyota VVT-i...so imagine you could see what they use on a celica forum.

Krylon for Plastics w/ Crystal Clear. This is the second go around and this time I let it dry like 4 days before putting everything back in because I definately didn't want to do it again. This time I actually read the instructions in terms of drying in between coats. Came out perfect!

to straight answer your question the 1.5L has the shortest stroke and fattest rods...it also puts down the same power stock as the 2.0L....but you would really need the j-spec ecu also to control the variable valve timing....just so you know also the mazda system is actually called s-vt....it is similar to toyota's vvt-i system

yeah, it's cell phone pics, but my sister got a digi cam for her birthday, so sometime this weekend im going to go shoot new pics. they are enkei or52's wrapped in pirelli p zero neros, and the tire size is 205/40/17(tires are too small for me, so im definitely getting 215/40's next time around). the wheels are 17X7.5. i thought they were going to be 17X7. they look alot better in person i think.

Thanks, I bought a set of MSP springs because I want to see how a .75 inch drop looks and feels. I don't want to go too low because I take some back roads to work to avoid 695 (Baltimore beltway) and ground clearance is an issue. If I don't like the drop from those, I will look at tein springs.

I saw a protege with 17's of this wheel on, and they looked too big for my taste.

Yeah, wax is a PITA to put on, but looks sooooooo sexay afterwards!! If I had the patience to actually WAX my car and not use the car wash stuff that has wax in it, then I would wax wax the car more often. But..... I don't so I just wash and "wax".

honestly you should see it now, all dirtied up..... i dont have a show for a few weeks so instead of cleaning i am taking care of a few other issues...... normally i wash it every other day and wax it abt twice a week. i know i have no life during show season but oh well......

i have racingbeat springs. the drop isn't too bad. im not sure if the msp springs have the same drop though. i think the front will have a bigger gap than mine does unless that is for p5's only.

I did a lot of searching and I recall reading that putting msp springs on a stock protege sedan will give a .75 inch drop in front and back. What was your drop?

Thanks. They are called Fast Wheels. I think that they are only made in Canada.....not too sure though. They aren't gunmetal or anything, they are just like a dark grey colour. You know I be rollin' on 17's foo!

Just wanted to ask you about a couple things....

1) What did you use to tint your tail lamps? Looks really good and pretty dark.

2) How hard was it to remove the VTCS?
