I like the Wings West one better as well. If I got a wing it would be that one or just the regular ES one.... but that would only be after I got the OEM skirts, and f&r lips. I used to like the 03 rear lip better, but the 03.5 has grown on me. I'd be happy with either.... it's not like they're hard to get or anything :rolleyes:

The ES-GT is basicaly like a Protegé 5 sedan*: 5-nuts wheels, sun roof, a/c, ABS, electric doors and rear disc brakes. There's the rear spoiler but I have the MSP 03 instead.

*I know all P5 don't have a/c and sunroof together.

ES-GT didn't come with a front strut bar, nor the same sort of rear bumper the P5 had, or the nicer front bumper with the round fogs, or side skirts.

ES-GT is basically the Canadian version of the USDM ES. Our regular ES is the same as the US LX. Kinda dumb how they went and confused all the trim levels.

Ahh yeah: I forgot about the dress-up kit like the Protegé5... it's really just like a fully-loaded ES with 5 nuts on each wheel and 4 disc brakes.

yeah i bought the wrong gaskets. i bought some from mienike(sp) and they were to big. i relize the new flanges are the same size as factory flanges(tight squeeze) so im going to by 3 new factory exhaust gaskets and cut the inside out to a 3 inch.

First things first, I'm taking it into a shop to have the engine fine tuned and fix any parts that are high on wear. Then it's off to the detailing shop to get all of the small dents and rough spots removed and refinished.

My 2000 Protege LX I inherited from my wife, but we bought it new in Feb 2000. No major mods yet. Just my daily driver, right now on these gold rims just with snow tires as I drive all day for a living. K&N filter is about it. Rear sway bar and Tokico struts and springs going on in the Spring. Black headlights and corners, with Polaris yellow H4 bulbs.

They're a breeze to remove, they're held on by glue, no holes. It only takes about 10seconds per side once u get an edge up to pull on, the part that takes a long time is glue removal off your doors so it looks good.

it took me a couple of hours for just one side, to peel off all the double sided tape that is, probably because my car is a lot older and it stuck to the door not the molding when i took it off the car...

just be patient with it, i haven't done my other side yet but when i do, i have a heat gun that i'm going to use on it. don't worry, not too hot i know, plus i use my thumb and nail to scrape and peel it off so it doesn't scratch, plus i don't want to burn myself...

i'm going to definitely wait until it gets much warmer out (obviously that depends on where you live :p)

This is my 2000 Mazda Protege ES. Paid $1,800. Has 126,000 miles and is 5 speed.

As you can see the previous owner got a little action from the back. Lol. I'm hoping it isn't too much to fix either. It also has a check engine light for Lean Air/Fuel ratio bank 1.

the fogs are 3000k and my headlights are luminics pure blue. the picture doesnt show the blue but trust me they are super blue! the light output on the luminics are terrible hahaha thats why i upgraded my fogs. and they look amazing and are plenty bright!

thanks man. yeah it has been some time since an update. ha I'm really liking the miata rims and since they are OEM it is a nice clean look. 40mm offset makes them sit more flush now, looks real good.
