I like that bumper... just get some oem fogs and you're good to go (2thumbs)

(but you're right - the South African one is nicer ;))

i dont know... it is a close call really ... i much more prefer the US one ... i been eyeing to get some fog lights for mine to fit into those two spots but cant find some decent ones... anyone got a howto for me to fit fog lights ?

i jsut really like the seperation in the openings rather than the one large opening on the USDM one. i've even woundered about the feasability of make it into 3 separate openinings... any input???

Question on having the P5/MSP/MP3 bumper on a sedan. With having the bumper does it look "goofy" from a side angle? What I mean is, does the bumper hang lower than the side etc? Most I have seen have had side skirts...So I assume CantCMe could answer this question? If I could find the sedan lip cheap I wouldn't worry about it, but I know thats a very weak probability.

I had the front w/o sides or a rear and it does look funny. It looks like the car has a fat jaw and skinny body. lol. The car w/o sides is rounded off and w/ sides it just squares is because technically it lines up the same.

Agreed, I much rather have sides but it doesn't look like shit w/o them. The sedans look sick lowered to me since everyone goes for the msp body or body kit anymore.

Whats wrong with them? I wrote a how to on how to fix plastic bumper's and other plastic pieces if you need any tips on how to do it yourself. I have fixed everything from cracks to holes the size of a tennis ball in my bumper. So let me know if you want some help with that.

Hmm are you any good at photoshop? I would like to see it, I've seen bronze on sand mica before and I wasn't that impressed. If two of the wheels hadn't been curbed when I got them, I would have stuck with the original 03 finish.

I rear ended a honda a while ago and the bodyshop didn't pull out the left side (why the hood isn't flush with the headlight on the driver side) and then my rear side got pushed in, my real lip cracked and my front lip scraped when I went off the road. Added to that, the plastic support piece for the bumper fitment under the headlight is sitting in my basement too :(

I've taken the bumper off soo many damn times I just leave it. I don't have the bumper support either...but eventually I'm gonna take that one off and get a MSP front bumper, and might turbo it again. Who knows?

Doesn't look goofy to me, but yeah it does hang a little lower than the sides. I have the side skirts, I just haven't had them painted and installed yet. It will look better once I do that.

My car is relatively stock looking as well so I'm not one to talk...but after I get home from Afghanistan in 3mos...the BC2 kit is gonna get painted and put on finally, after over a year almost 2years of owning the kit its finally getting painted and installed lol.

Still undecided on what color to paint the whole car though.

I've tossed around the MP3/MSP blue as well as like a normal green color...just because I've never seen a green Protege running around.

Well I already have a BC2 kit I bought a while back...like almost 2years ago. But if all else fails and the BC2 kit looks like shit I'll track down someone selling a MSP/MP3 kit and swipe that shit from them lol.

Where did you buy yours from?

I bought mine from extremedimensions.com and it was just crap. I had the wrong guys install it so I had sheet metal screws everywhere, the primer on the kit was all scratched up so it had to get sanded off and re-primed, when the kit was sanded without any primer, it was so thin that you could see light shine through it, fitment wasn't great but that was because of how it was originally put on, I tapped a parking stop thing and a chunk of the bumper fell out, it adds like 3 or 4 inchs to the car, maybe more. I loved the look but I realized body kits aren't for me. She sure looked sexy though...

Oh, and I say keep the sand mica, they're sexy. I've seen a sand mica BC2 and DAMN, it look good bro, you'll be happy. If the paint is boring to you, throw some flake into it. lol.

Nah its not as bad as I make it seem, but I guess I'm just tired of the damn thing not running right for the last several months. Ya know? Ya ever get in those moods when you just wanna shove your car into traffic and claim the GAP insurance on it? lol But anyway, I guess you guys have convinced me to keep the Sand Mica maybe add some flake into it or something. If you can find a pic of Drake's car with the kit on it and post it in here that would be awesome. I don't really have much time to go searching for it in between guard shifts. Thanks guys! And I got the kit from a guy in Knoxville, TN he bought it for his P5 and they sent him a Sedan kit so he just let the kit sit in his garage for a year and he since then has sold his P5 and just wanted it outta the garage so I bought it off him for like $185 or $175 something like that. But its brand new in the box I had a pic of it....if I can find it I'll post it up on here for ya'll.

I normally am not a fan of that color but for some reason the white rims set it off a bit, and with it slammed like that it looks real clean!

What kinda rims are those? And do you have any issues rubbing since I see you are tucking a bit in the back.

I normally am not a fan of that color but for some reason the white rims set it off a bit, and with it slammed like that it looks real clean!

What kinda rims are those? And do you have any issues rubbing since I see you are tucking a bit in the back.

konig holes 17x7 +40 [painted white] with 5mm spacers.
the rear doesn't rub at all since part of the fender is rolled, but the front rubs sometime if i hit a big dip in the road.

Can't say, I got mine from extreme dimensions. Mine had poor quality and ok fitment but the AIT one might be a lot better, or worse.

Yeah, thats the place.

Trust me, i did the "hit the curb test" with my front bumper, it shattered & I wasn't going even close to that fast.

So unless they overhauled there "duraflex" since last year, they're full of shit.

Yes, buying another used car scares me. I was fairly lucky with this car. There is a magnitude of things that can be wrong with a used car that you might not pick up on right away.

I agree but if you make a check list and check everything before you get the car I dotn see their being any problems. The rust issue could of been caught if he had checked under it and not just around the wheel wells, door jams, cab corns, ect, ect, ect.

Nah its not as bad as I make it seem, but I guess I'm just tired of the damn thing not running right for the last several months. Ya know? No problem, ya the graphics were a bit much. I took them off after 6 months of having them on. Like I mentioned before, those are some really old pics. Here are a few when I took them off.

But I'll give anyone fair warning right now. Fiber glass is brittle, I'd highly recommend putting a clear bra on the front bumper. I had to redue mine twice. Once because of rock chips, the other because I hit a 18 wheeler tire going 60mph. So execpt about 300-400 in repairs each time. At this point, I don't see myself putting any kind of body kit on another car agian. It does look damn sexy, but you'll find yourself with more of a headache because of all the chips and cracks that come from it.

They look pretty good, I have been having a hell of a time trying to find some good looking rims for this car, that go well with the Sand Mica. So far I am basically in love with the Rota SubZero's and the Motegi LC5's which I'd love to get my hands on some of those because they are only 15lbs a piece.

I had 18" Sport Max 786s I think.

Thats the boat I'm in I like being different...when I went car shopping I was actually shopping for a Mustang or Camaro. And then a truck, and then the guy is like...well your credit is decent but you can't afford the payments on a Mustang or Camaro and insurance would be through the rough.

And then he pointed out a Sunfire, I told him to fuck off...I wanted something less gay and that was a 5spd and my protege was the only MT car on the whole lot. And it already looked like someone tried doing the ricer thing to it with some cheap ass "ruff racing" wheels and a bullshit "makeshift" CAI made from large rubber hose and a cheap hack job of a cat back exhaust.

But I took it from being jacked up to cleaning it up and putting decent parts on it, other than my Ebay "mazdaspeed" seats ebay header (same specs as the OBX header)

I'm satisfied with my car and its almost paid off lol..STi's are nice and I'd love to own one but it just isnt in my budget and with me being deployed and getting all sorts of different chunks of money (enlistment bonus..the last of it, tax return, and a per diem check for being deployed) it makes it not too bad for me to boost my car and I've already got most of the parts and what I don't have I've found used through MSP owners here in TN.

+1...I have fog deletes since when I bought my car it had to holes where the fogs were and the wires hanging out for the fogs. (makes me ask myself what was I thinking when I bought the car, haha) I have some aftermarkets from autozone installed behind the center grill, but i'd much rather have the stock ones as it makes the front look so much cleaner! I just can't force myself to put that much money out for fogs.

Thanks man, ya I had every intention of making the car all about AutoX for a long time but it got spendy doing it 2-3times a month at $30/event and having to drive 1.5hrs each way to get up there and back. So I started with suspension stuff first. But now I'm wanting a little more umph to the car the stock 130 crank hp just isnt enough. I think I'm gonna put the power mods on hold for the time being...I really want the MP3 kit for the car and I think it will give the car a bit more character and looks a lot better. Then a bike is next on my agenda of go fast toys lol. The turbo kit can always wait...I really can't afford downtime for my car since its my DD and being in the military I can't just take off 4-5days of work lol.

Anyone think it would look like shit if I did the BC2 side skirts with MSP rear lip and MP3 front bumper? just thinking...cuz I've already got the BC2 kit, but dont want to mess with the whole fiberglass shit and it breaking. But I've always loved the MP3 front bumper over the MSP. And I already have a MSP rear lip I bought when I was in Iraq. So all I'd need is the MP3 front bumper.

The BC2 side skirts look good when you get the DG front lip too, otherwise the side skirts will extend noticeably further down than the front bumper by itself.

I think I may try Dub's suggestion as well on trying the rear bumper to see how it looks...who knows I may actually like it...and it would help me out because my factory bumper has a few nicks in it where my boy rearended me on the highway, nothing major but would be nice to not see it everyday when I walk to my car lol.

Keep in mind all of the MSP bumper covers (including mine) are the same as the MP3 bumper. The only difference on the 03.5s is the front lip instead of the fogs.

How did you put them in? I have an aftermarket set as well and dont feel like making a mold so they fit where are supposed to go. I suppose they look much better behind the center grill rather than on the sides. How's the visibility?

I got them off of eBay. They're the "best quality" Autopia fog lights.
I originally got them as a cheap alternative from the OEM fog lights because on the eBay page, they claimed these would fit just like the P5 fog lights do.

Once they arrived, they were 2 inchs in diameter too small so I found a new place to mount them.

Also, in that last pic, I have H.I.D.s installed. muhahaha

OH HAI!

:D i "Used" to have the regular sedan fogs with hids which matched my pro5 headlight conversion with hids. dont have those anymore. now, i run retrofit headlights, with 99-00 yellow civic fogs with hids. nice and bright and JDM, baby!

Very nice, I remember all the help you gave me on my sedan fogs when I installed mine.

Always been a fan of your ride. Not to mention you hooked me up with the sedan lip.

Xentec Bi-Xenon H4(9003) 6000k(ebay, even though I havn't seen them on there in awhile but I think MSPLIFE has a hook up with them, also there is a 5000k set in the FS section for a good ass price, $85. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123726820)

6000k H3 bulbs for the fogs, I don't remember the brand of the fog light hids but I got them from eBay too, us seller.

Fog lights are from ebay too, Best Quality Autopia "OEM Replacement"...fuckin liars.

Protege Garage hooked me up with my bump for 99 bucks :)

If you go this route, you're going to have to take some precautions that I didn't to avoid a massive hid issue with this setup.

The fogs are metal and they were mounted on the metal crash bar so basically they grounded each other out so only one would work and after awhile one would blow so you just have to break the fog and crash bar with something when mounting.

Well I called protegegarage and was like "Hey, I need a msp bumper, how much is it going to cost?"

Ken: 99 bucks

"Ok my CD number is..."

End of story. lol.

I'm not sure if that was with shipping but I bought the bumper and reinforcement bar together and it was 409 shipped.

The plastic crash bar the sedans come with won't fit with the mp3/msp/p5 bumper. You can cut it but it usually looks like shit so u gotta get the matching crash bar.

haha, don't bet on it. Seriously, that shit was weird cuz when I had halogen bulbs, they worked perfectly fine. Stupid things.

No no no, the whole crash bar. The sedans are made of plastic and are an off white color with two small pieces of styrofoam and a front black piece but the crash bar you need for the conversion is black metal with a big piece of styrofoam across the front.

The only reason you need it is cause of the fog light holes that suck into the car. They run into the sedan crash bar and make it impossible to fit onto the car.
The bump cost me 99 and the bar cost me 250 and the rest was shipping.

To the guy that asked bout bottoming out. I'm with Dub on this...I pick and choose my battles as well, however the roads in Fort Campbell suck dick and are like driving down a back country road. Just watch where you go and you shouldn't have too many run ins with potholes.

Yeah, he's on a local forum but not that active. Nice sand mica, and has all bolt ons minus pullies, VTCS removed, ported intake manifold and Coils relocated.
