I'm so happy i bought an es.. took care of a lot of nick picky mods i would have had to have done

Couldn't afford one at the time, it was get this DX for 11k out the door or get a Cavalier for 9k (so glad I made the right choice :))

Besides, I have enjoyed all of my projects so far because of the learning experience.

Nah, most of the stuff came off the P5 I bought. Heres a list of what needed to be replaced (no part #'s, you can find those on onlinemazdaparts)

P5/ES rear lower control arms (very important, I found out :()
P5/ES front and rear spindles
" e-brake cable
" rear brake lines
" rear calipers and caliper bracket bolts
" brake master cylinder and portioning valve

New front and rear rotors and calipers, too. Oh yeah, I got the 5 lug wheels from liquid_ag and the spare tire I got out of the P5.

Mickey, why would the cops pull over you, just for the tint? that sucks man

in the state of virginia, you can not have paint or any kind of tint on the tail lights. and the window tint can only be 50% on the front and 35% on the back. so im getting tired of getting pulled over for both of them so i switched the tail lights to oem and pulled a layer of tint off my windows. and i seems i have one of the only two insurance companies that hold it against you for equipment violations as well as moving ones.

I'm almost done with my list of mods, i mean, by peformance i want intake (in the mail), header and exahust, that's it, then i would do the rear disc mod, for exterior i am done, for interior some upholstery like covers for the seats is the only thing left, oh and a screen instead of the radio . yeahp lol. It doesn't matter the order. But the rear disc is one of the best imo.

a write off?? i did the same thing to mine when i rear ended a jeep w/ hitch on the highway(mofo was doing 30 in the fast lane, puny rear drums didnt do anything,hmmm maybe its time for discs all around) and i couldnt let her go like that. now im driving a protege w/ a primered hood and front bumper.

Welcome to the site! There's alot of people that have put 18s on a lowered Protege. You would need a wheel that's no wider than 7.5" and no lower than a 45 offset to be safe. It will work.

Welcome to the site, the drop on the Eibach Prokit is 1.4 in the front and 1.8 in the rear. If you follow the tip that Falango has given you about size and offset you should be ok. Yeah, instead of having the fuel and temp gauge in one spot (which I like better) the temp gauge fills in the spot of the tach.

i have inserts for the side "holes" that will have fog lights in them and as for the front that "hole" will stay because it looks nice to me and as for mesh i will be using a black tighter looking "fly" mesh so it will be darker. Once i get the funds the "hole" in the middle will be better filled with a bigger front mount. it really don't look that bad and isn't to much bigger than the front of a new evo plus most places i go they like it and say it looks more uniqe then the other mazdas that just go with the mp3/mazdaspeed/ wings west mp3 kit front bumper. its still a work in progress but everyone have there own taste but thanks for the feedback still gots aways to go, just cuz i'll take pics of the inserts just to see what ya'll think

are you sure that's an LX? it has four wheel disk, or did you convert to four wheel disk with the five lugs

actually the car came that way! i bought it from a dealership, and they said it was an lx, so when i made my sn on here i applied LX at the end, but i'm thinking it's an ES b/c of the disc brakes, and the red interior lighting.

i think it's an ES. it's lack with light grey pillars and hood liner. i think it did have factory fog lights cause when i got the car they were gone and the wires were tucked. sucks cause i wish i had them! but i do have the switches. i'm trying to run aftermarket fogs i have in center grills to the factory switch, not working out though.

when i spoke with him he had not mentioned that and i'm sure he would have. only thing he told me was that he had these yellow flame decal or something taking up the whole side of the car ha, and white motegi wheels which i swapped for stock, and that the fog lights were broke. so i would have to say it is a es!

Just buy some factory fogs and install them. Took me like 35min tops to run all the wire, install the switch, and mount the light on my LX 2.0.

i have blue parking lights in the front. actually i think every car i've had, i've had blue parking bulbs in front.

I think that blacked out tails would look sick but thats because I got the same color setup as you, just mine is white and black instead. What actually would look good would be if u blacked out the chrome on the tail lights but if you decide to leave the tails alone, your ride is still tight :D

I dunno man, I've seen a pro with red drums to match the calipers, and IMO it looks ricey. You've done a great job with yours so far, wouldn't want to cheapen it now. I say silver if you do it.

I painted my rear drums black and was going to just paint the front calipers red before I got the parts for the 5 lug swap.
