Hey, my name's will and i drive a 2000 LX. i came onto this website for one reason. please help me out. i swamped my protege and now it has a bent valve or a compressed lifter. upon drooling for the performance block and turbo for the protege put out by MAmotorsports, i realized i should just fix my 1.8 and then do something else to it rather than the cold air and universal muffler already installed. when looking on E-bay for a turbo kit i came across an engine for sale and was wondering if it would work in my 2000 LX: it's a 1.8 turbo AWD. would it work? where can i find a rear axel and differential? any response would be greatly appreciated

welcome! umm is it a protege engine or some random 1.8l? awd conversion will be very expensive as you will probably have to MAKE things fit. like the floor pan for instance. my suggestion would be to rebuild the engine you have and buy a turbo for it.

it's a JDM Mazda 1.8. i dunno if that's an aftermarket engine but it says it's outta a 323.
