The rubber gasket around my sunroof seems to be binding on the car when I try and open and close the sunroof. As a result it either doen't open properly, or doesn't close completely.

Any suggestions?

Clean the rubber with 409 or something? Nova Scotia is cold, isn't it? So it can't be due to hot temp?

Best thing, first clean it. Simple soap and water will do.

Next, try using a very very small amount of LPS1 (Greaseless Lubricant).

This works for sticky rubber gaskets everywhere. The LPS1 won't break down the rubber like other stuff will.

The old trick I've heard and use is to spray a rag with silicon lubricant and rub it on the seals -- it keeps them flexible. I do this before I wash my car so the silicon gets washed off the paint -- letting it dry on the seals first.

Sounds like the moonroof is mis-aligned. Take it into the dealership and they will re-align it for you. Thats what I did.
