View Full Version : Window "noise"

My '99 LX front passenger side window makes a hard-to-describe "noise" when I am driving. It is not RPM or speed related and may or may not be aggrivated by the stereo (it certainly happens with the stereo off).

The noise is not quite a buzz, not actually a rattle, and only vaugely like a squeek.

This only occurs when the window is completely closed, if I open it even just a very slight bit (just a tap on the window control) the noise abates completely.

Before I pull the door apart to investigate, does this sound familiar to anyone? I actually though I had read a TSB at one time talking about adding a strip of something to the window to stop a noise but I just looked through the TSB section in The (Almightly) FAQ and did not see it (did I just miss it?).

So...

No one else has this window noise?

Or no one has solved it for themselves?

I had a whistling sound coming from my windshield in the passenger side top corner. Mazda fixed it because it was under warranty that was about 45K on it. There is a service bulletin about this issue.
