injen cai fucked me all up. hesitation, CEL, two bad MAF. I never tried the tube trick but finally went turbo which eliminated the problems.

My inspection is this month and I have to figure out a way to get rid of this code.

reset the ECU, that will get rid off it for a while. I put something between the MAF and the intake, like to make it seal better. that got rid of my cell, but the car still hessitates a little.

i already have the bicycle tubing in there to try and make the better seal. Will resetting it just clear the lamp or will it still throw the code and just not have the lamp on

it will clear the code too untill it reads it again.

I have a Injen for my 1.6L and have no problems (manual tranny too).

Make sure your MAF sensor is not damaged.

i think it is the early injen and ebay models that have the problem, i know its my intake that threw my code becuase my stock intake works just find with my maf sensor.. i am guessing it is leakin air because the code i am gettin is bank 1 to lean, cause by the maf leanin out the system.. i am gonna see thursday if the lil stock pipe on cai works..

So I took it in after resetting the ECU and I failed. The guy said that I had too many "Not Ready" codes and that I have 30 days to come back to pay the remaining $6.50 for the sticker. Time for plan B

a guy on TOprotege bought one off ebay for his 1.6, had the leaking problem, but then his car threw a code..

all the code is is that the INTAKE is taking in to much air...

he bought that code reader and thats what it says.

not sure how or if he fixed it but, thats what the code is, cover up the intake hole a bit and it will prolly go away.

hope this helps ya out.

thats one theory i had because of the code sayin bank 1 to lean, to much air, not enough fuel... makes since now..

Brad

by that thinking wouldnt any intake other than OEM cause a CEL because the wider piping and less restrictive filter?

Shane5425

well , everyone with an aftermarket intake on the 1.6l is havin a problem from one time to anohter..

Shane5425

you also have to look at the ones that are not havin a problem, what kind of climate are they in?? hot or cold, cool are warm..
