I'm about to order some G2 brake caliper paint. Just trying to pick a color.

What do ya think? yellow, red, blue?

I'm leaning towards yellow. Strange because I don't typically like yellow, but I think it would bring the mp3 badges out some more.

Red looks really hot too, but there's no other red on the car besides the brake lights

Then there's blue, anyone got them painted blue? pics?

Here's the colors it comes in,

I think I may be going with the yellow myself...here's a better place (chaper price) to get it and save yourself a few bucks...)
Caliper paint (http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/brakcalpain.html)

Well the Red does match the racing beat sway bars under the car :) Here is a pic of my Red calipers that I painted with some $3.00 spray paint.

Yeah, what is it, and how long have you had it on? Any troubles with chipping or it washing off?

I used the G2 Caliper paint on my calipers. I used the Yellow, and it looks SWEET!!!
I have a vivid yellow MP3 so it totally matches the car's color.
:D

MP3Owner- What kind of work did you do to paint yours? ie take the caliper off/apart?
Being one that could "F*&k up a free picnic" I worry that I'd do something bad in taking it apart and reinstalling if that's the case. Thus, I'm leaning towards the brush on stuff... :D

well, I ordered the g2 yellow paint kit. It's going to take some time to get here though. No matter, as I can't put it on until the winters come off anyhow.

I hope the yellow is nice in person. From the pics you guys have posted, I don't think you can go wrong. Yellow and red look great.

I'd still like to see the blue g2 on someone's car though. If I had seen a pic of it beforehand, I may have ordered it instead. I was worried the blue would be a different blue then the car.

thanks guys

You guys shouldn't use paint or spray paint.......The calipers can heat up to over a 1000 degrees...the paint and spray paint will flake off and not hold its color.....what you can do is buy a kit which colors the calipers...It isn't paint it is a gel substance that covers the calipers like a glove.......

paint, depending on formulation, can withstand heat up to 1500degrees f.
I used automotive(Standox) sinlge stage urrathane and it has held up great!
like all painting good prep=good finished product .so clean everything really good! ;)

The G2 Brake Caliper Paint is especially made for painting brake calipers and it whitstands to a lot of heat. So there is no problem using it. ;)

Out of red, blue, and yellow, I have to say Orange, it looks really good with our blue.
Why???
Everyone else does yellow, blue woudn't look good, no one would ever notice it against your car. And orange is better than red.

I used some Dupli-Color Engine Enamel withstands up to 500 degree heat. Which is plenty unless you plan on driving in the 24 hours of Le Mans. :D They have stayed bright with no flakes for 4 months now.

As for how I did it...I took the easy way out. I took the wheel off, masked around the caliper, and painted away. It came out pretty good. It would be better if you can take it apart but I didn't want to do all of that so I just left in on the car and in place. Looks good enough for me :D

Mp3 owner, where did you get your paint from....Trak auto? Also what is the color called or does it have # associated with it, in order to match the sway bars...Cuz ur match looks pretty close. I was going to do that myself...but was unsure how it would come out once I painted it. Thanks.

I was originally the one who recommended the G2 paint- and it is awesome! I'm in Ohio braving the cold and crappy road salt, and the paint is still immaculate. As with any paint job, the key is preparing he surface- that is what will make the paint last the longest... and I like the idea of other colors on the car. Orange would be really sweet if you could get the badges reproduced w/ the same color. Same w/ white- my .02

here you go:

add $16 shipping. I haven't gotten mine yet, apparantly their back ordered. They lied first and said shipping was 10.00, but I knew it was to low for the states. I couldn't find a Canadian site. The exchange rate is the shits right now too, so beware. I think it's still 1.59

Red would look nice with those wheels you got. When ya gets er all done up right purdy, send me some pics!
