Hey would a 225/50/ 17 - RE040 fit our tires? I need to replace both my rear tires and this used tire place down the street has 2 225/50 Potenzas for sale for 30 each (no plugs). I have heard of people putting larger tires in the back but I do not think this will fit my 3.5 wheel. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Mike

I think the tire will fit the wheel fine, aren't the RH's 17x7.5? but I don't think it will fit the car without rubbing. I am by no means an expert though. Just digging through hundreds of hours of logged away internet info...

I did a little bit more research and ive heard that 225/45's dont rub with the potenzas, however ive heard there could be different readings on speedometer/odom than what there atually is. Also, would it even fit the stock wheel without a problem? Also, if they are both on the rear (with clunk fix bracket) would I have a problem autoxing?
Safety should also be an issue, hehe.
Thanks

I don't think the sppedo will be affected by different rear tires...the front probably would. I would think they would be okay on the rear. Ohh, and the RH wheels are 17x7.

Oh yeah, good point. I was thinking it was for all four...

They will fit the rim OK but I'd bet you'll rub if you put them in the back without rolling/shaving your fenders.
