with just the stock bpv is there a reason why it will only turkey when you push in the clutch? when i just let off the gas it sounds like the air is being recirculated minus the turkey. just wondering if anyone has an explanation for this.

When you shift (i.e. when you hit the clutch) there is a sudden drop in pressure within your vac line. You will go from boost to vac very fast, thus activating your BPV and causing the turkey. When you just let off the gas, your boost level slowly drops rather than 'falls'.

so that means the bpv doesnt open...is that harmful for your car?

Inever really noticed that the turkey noise only happens when you hit the clutch until you said something lol shows how much i pay attention. Anyway do any of you guys know if they make an aftermarket direct fit replacement bpv for our cars. Like the ones they have for the vw's that almost sounds like a blowoff valve?????

Yes people make ones that fit right in.... but the sound will be close to the same.

You could always go this route: http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=2002&product=FMDVMSP01

but put a hotside hardpipe on it and you'll get nothing but woosh, I know, I had it with the hardpipe and it was nice.

Has any one else gone this route? sound clips? any problems/stalling issues?

I have the Greddy Type S right now and that thing is a ton harder to make not stall as you can adjust it. The Forge cannot be adjusted unless you put a different spring in it. Anyway, good luck with whatever route you take.

ya just spend alittle cash and get the hardpipes.. itll fix all your turkey problems.. just get a flange welded on for like 25$ and add a BOV of your choice and youll love the sound.

yes, yes you can. It's just a replacement for the stock BPV.
