I'm assuming your friend desires to replace the hood in terms of appearance only. In that case I can't help you. However, if he's looking for a weight advantage, tell him to stick to the OE hood in that it is aluminum and already very light. Unless he wants to spend a TON of money on a purely CF hood, he's not going to save any [significant] weight (considering most CF hoods are of a fiberglass build with carbon fiber overlay - hence being only show worthy).

I dont think I have seen a CF trunk on a miata. I know DG has a hood but I know nothing about it or good prices for that kind of thing.

hoods are around from various vendors... all weigh about as much as stock...

truck? I know I've seen a CF trunk for a 90-97 Miata, but I've never yet seen one made for the 99+ body style cars..
