I have a spicy orange MSP. I baught it 2 years ago, but have yet to do anything to it yet(to many reasons to explain.) I am finally going to play catch up, and start hooking it up. I am a novice, and know litle about starting this endeavor, so I asked my friend Rob's advice. He found this board, and got a lot of great tips. We started a plan mostly on info found on this page. I want to get alot of parts then go visit him for a week in Austin, Tx, and begin the process. I am going to drop about $1500 on the parts. (Most of this from corksports.com)Our first plan was for me to get an $500 intecooler, $189 cold air intake, $389 on an exhaust, IC pipes no price yet, and a boost controller originaly thought to be between $85 and $200. Then he drops this bomb on me today.
The $840
CORK SPORT 'Power Series' Tuner Computer (Mazdaspeed)
He said hold off on any parts necasay, and start with this. It does look hot, but what do you guys think. Should this be deffinitly the first part ordered?

Hum, if you only have $1500. Here is what I would do.(You can say this is what I did!!!)
1. Get a hiboost FMIC kit $870 pickup. Its really easy to install and works great, plus its not that expensive.( I got the Greddy Type-s BOV for $100 more)
2. Custom downpipe and cat back section. 2.5 or 3". I got it done for $400(with a magaflow cat)
3. Riles CF SRI, he is the only one selling CF SRI or CAI. I have the CAI first, then changed into SRI. I think he is selling for $150. I like the SRI, because it gets more HP than the CAI.
4. be a cheap ass, and get a MBC for $30-60.
All comes a grand total of less then 1500.
If you are willing to spend a little more, get a used EBC for $150-200. It's better. I got mine off ebay for $160.
You will get about 200WHP at 10psi.
You will be able to take stock WRX with no problem, or stock S13 with SR20DET swap.
After that, you can look into some EMS.(which is what I am looking into now.)
